  1. I may be way off the mark here but there was a post I read on a blog and can't now find where someone stated they knew Arnold and he had been killed in 1996, which led me to this article. Check the back of LeRoy Hutsons 'Feel The Spirit' Album where Arnold is listed as a backing singer and the guy front right of LeRoy looks very much like the same guy, and the age could match. Very sad if that's how his life ended, unsolved gory murder possibly part of a serial killers victims :/ Hopefuly i'm way off the mark EDIT: actually the more I look at the LeRoy cover the more I'm convinced it's the Arnold 18 years earlier than this photo...
  2. Yup, that's some real classy sh*t rofl
  3. It is definitely Bran Van 3000 'Astounded' slowed down, it could be one of the remixes on the CD single only. The Eric Kupper and MJ Cole versions are on vinyl and are more similar to the one you posted than the album version. The intro is so long it's more than likely someone has edited it to make it longer too, cheers Sutty
  4. Really? I forced myself to watch them all and it's even worse than 'vinyl' and that was pretty cringing and got canned. The only redeeming factor is some of the music, but it's farcical on the whole - the acting, script, and continuity are awful, the dance routines are laughable, and that 'set me free' track is just really irritating. Apart from all that I loved it, particularly when it got to the final credits and I thought 'thank f**k that's finished'
  5. You mean Soul, or Northern Soul? Above mentioned are Northern nights, there are quite a few Soul nights and events in the area outside the N.S. scene, some regular, certainly most weekends there's something on, cheers Sutty
  6. Funny you should say that as it's just reminded me that parceltogo left a package in my rubbish bin a week ago, it was only when I went to see if it was worth wheeling the bin out for collection last week and opened it that I saw it on the top of the rubbish. No card to tell me when they did it or where it was, if I'd not have checked it would be down the tip now
  7. Next day joke more like, it's a lottery. I had someone that specifically wanted home Monday delivery from a Friday posting so I made the point at the p.o. that I wanted the Mon-Fri SD not the more expensive £11+ Saturday delivery and paid £7.25. They tried to deliver Saturday and the guy had to collect from the sorting office. My Hermes are also much cheaper for named days. TBH my main post bugbear is people who invoice in minutes and charge for 1st class post, then take a week to go to the post office. I paid for 1st class, so I expect it to arrive in a day or two, not 10 days or i'd have paid you for 2nd class... and another thing... cheers Sutty
  8. I should probably interject seeing as I ran it for 17 years in its various guises. The website host since 2005 has simply shut the servers down and p*ssed off, closing all the forums on there with no notice, no communication and does not respond to anyone, which is nice. We already had a Facebook page so the name continues there along with the members. Sadly all the members posts over the last 11 years are gone forever, cheers Sutty
  9. 10. Ray, Goodman and Brown 'Another Day' from their 1st album https://www.discogs.com/Ray-Goodman-Brown-Ray-Goodman-Brown/master/151216 cheers Sutty
  11. very sad, way too young, great vocalist
  12. It was his niece I think he said so no vocal to compare on that one. Willie Tee demo, sounds nothing like him, should be retitled 'the man who cried wolf' ;)
  13. Its not an acetate its the issue, its just a pretty rough pressing, same as mine, cheers Sutty
  14. Priceless, seeing as it doesn't exist
  15. What happens when a shady dealer finds a few uninformed bidders? sold 3 days ago for $810...
  16. Yes, the Russian double LP has all the tracks from the Deluxe 'Let's Get It On' double CD. Sounds like the one you saw advertised is a mis-press, but I bought it when it came out and it was all correct, and good quality too.
  17. Good points but I think your sums are a bit out there? It's 20% above £15, so on £40 that's 20% of £25 = £5, plus a handling charge of £8 is £53. I've had to pay a couple of times and I certainly can't pay at the door, the postie is not allowed to collect payments, they get given a card and drop it through the door, they don't even have the package to give you, you have to pay and collect from the sorting office. cheers Sutty
  18. There's a lot of mint copies around, it's been up for sale almost weekly for a couple of years on eBay. Sellers are asking around £150 but it's way too common a record now to command that price for me. I am assuming a few boxes were found, it seems that way. Nice record. cheers Sutty
  19. I spent years chasing that album on the strength of 'eyes of love' to blank looks, eventually got one and then realised its not actually very good!
  20. Even more impressive is that fact that they were playing James Ingram before it was even recorded You're right though, those tunes were massive everywhere, I never went to Kings Hall but certainly heard them out regularly, and you were often there Dave! cheers Sutty
  21. Hi Bob that's only the inflated advertised price from a chancer in Italy hoping someone is gullible enough to fall for it - all his records are stupidly overpriced. Donald Byrd 'Places & Spaces' for £230 anyone? average selling price - £11. J,R. Bailey single for £36? average selling price less than a fiver. It also has the makings of a scam, get some feedback then hit someone with a big sale and the record never arrives. Either way he's a tw*t. cheers Paul
  22. I think if you paid off your card it goes back on your card, if you paid out of paypal it goes back into paypal balance, that's what happened to me in the past - but only if they use the refund option within paypal. If they just send you the money it stays in paypal, cheers Sutty

There's a LOT isn't there! i've only included albums I would put on from start to finish and would be lost without them, no 1 or 2 trackers and very little if no filler for me... both Dyson's Faces LP's (well one and a half albums really) Mike James Kirkland 'hang on in there' Gil Scott-Heron 'pieces of a man' and 'winter in America' Temptations 'sky's the limit' Sly & The Family Stone 'there's a riot goin' on' Spaceark 'spaceark is' (2nd album) Gloria Scott 'what am i gonna do' RAMP 'come into knowledge' Smokey Robinson & The Miracles 'what love has joined together' Shuggie Otis 'inspiration information' Curtis Mayfield 'curtis' / 'curtis live' / 'roots' / 'superfly' James Mason 'rhythm of life' Jon Lucien - the 3 RCA albums Al Johnson 'peaceful' Willie Hutch 'ode to my lady' Isaac Hayes 'black moses' Leroy Hutson I and II Donny Hathaway 'extension of a man' Marvin Gaye 'whats going on' and 'let's get it on' Garland Green 'jealous kind of fella' Ted Coleman Band 'taking care of business' Lou Courtney 'i'm in need of love' Terry Callier 'what color is love' James Brown 'the payback' Roy Ayers 'he's coming' cheers Sutty
