"The 45s" Facebook On-liner 11th July 2020
A night of outstanding sets from Val Challoner , Steve Green , Yann Vatiste , Rob Messer , Kevin Higham , Russ Vickers and Keith Money. It's such a crying shame that this had to be an 'on-line' event , had we all been able to be together in a sweaty red-walled basement or similar venue it would have been one of the stand-out all-nighters of 2020.

Help Identifing the Artist for the Clip
Best part of a week since my above reply and no response ... guess you weren't actually that bothered about getting information on your pop record after all ...

Need help on another unknown acetate
If it will please the OP I've added some info on his other question/thread that may help his quest to ID the vocalist. And ne'er a mention of anything that could be misconstrued ...

Help Identifing the Artist for the Clip
The song's written by Jack Keller and Louie Shelton and it had versions released by Sacha Distel and Petula Clark on Polydor and also The Vernons on Pye in 1973. Guessing yours is a songwriter's demo to be punted around for potential singers.

Maybe you should have listened to it before commenting ... I downloaded the clip because I was happy to offer the 'help' asked for if I could do so , will be interested to hear your opinion once you've actually heard it.

Need help on another unknown acetate
Just to reiterate , the title of the site is "Soul Source" , there's a clue in the title ... There are umpteen ways the word 'soul' can be interpreted musically ... and at no point in its history would the recording in question ever be tagged as 'soul' music as long as it's got a hole in its centre. There is no need for all the 'touchy-feely' ... 'let's love everyone' approach to every single thread on here , leave that on the Current Affairs side of the site , the OP knows full well that the recording is not soul music (regardless of how many times it's denied) and should have expected a certain amount of scornful replies . I stand by my first comment regarding the acetate , it's not a personal attack on the poster just an opinion formed from having actually listened to the clip , had anyone else (and I mean ANYONE else) posted it my reply would have been identical. Why the hell I've just typed all this I'm not sure , guess I'm just bored treading on eggshells and the way things are headed on here .

Not sure what kind of 'spin' you're going to have to put on that to persuade people on here that it has anything remotely to do with soul music ... ?

Picture a world with no more soul events
All of you that are eagerly awaiting getting back to your 'can't live without' weekly dose of beer , talc and oldies will probably not have to wait too much longer ..... I fully expect to see an announcement soon from Kev Roberts regarding a new "norvern soul theme park" catering for those desperate to get back to it ...

Anyone missing Cleethorpes?
I managed to save a couple of sets from the 6ts Cleethorpes On-line Facebook bash and am presently trying to save some more today before FB removes them. Will stick them on Mixcloud along with the rest of the 100 Club On-liners.

Taylor made battle, allergies vs wigans chosen few
Well the band deemed it fit to reply (after 6 weeks or so of nothing , guess they don't visit their own FB page that often ... ) Seems all is in order rights-wise as printed on the single cover. No excuse for the pointless cover version/sample though ...
