  3. I can honestly say I've never heard it before, until I just Youtubed it and I hope I never hear it again. Kev
  4. I'd agree with that. Loved his "Leave Him" 1&2 and was only playing them the other week. RIP Kev
  5. Not what I would call rare. Has had plenty of exposure across the soul scene and played on radio 2. Much prefer "Why can't we be just more than friends" by them on Mums Kev
  6. The seller is making it quite plain that what he is selling is a re-issue/bootleg with real looking labels stuck on. However, the people buying them may not be quite as up front in say two or three years if they decide to sell them on. Or suppose you've popped your clogs and the missus is sticking them up on ebay trying to get the best price, she could unwittingly think they were original.
  7. Especially on "Something for my head" Kev
  8. Sold my demo of Martha Reeves about 12 years ago to someone in North Wales for £50 and regretted it ever since. Kev

  11. What a great video. Thanks for sharing. I never went to the Sink club but met Neil English and was a regular at The Mardi Gras in Mount Pleasant in 1970/71
  12. Just watching UC and they had a section on Northern Soul! Kev
  13. Love the other side - "I've learned my Lesson" one of the top sides played out in my kitchen at the mo Kev
  14. OBO - Original bootlegs only
  15. Not saying your wrong, but how do you know it's 1970. There's no date on the label and John Manship has it listed as 1967 Kev
  16. Maybe not, but bloody awkward to dance to
  17. Not an advert but a Public information film for Chlamydia - Lee Andrews - I've had it

  19. I dj'd in Liverpool and Birkenhead in the mid 70's in nightclubs to a mixed crowd. Playing mainly soul/funk but having to throw in the odd chart sound like the Bee Gees, Wings and even Abba. Trying to fill a dance floor in the ruthless night club scene can be quite tough, which included threats from the owners that it was your last night if you didn't get them dancing. Their theory was if they don't dance, they don't get thirsty and they don't spend money on drink. How they were supposed to drink while dancing was beyond me. Threats from punters for not playing requests. I once had a drunk ask me for an Eagles record, to which I politely replied, I didn't have it, but would bring it next week, thinking he'd forget. Unfortunately, he turned up the following week asking again, only to be told I didn't have it. After the third week he threatened me and waited for me outside and had a go at me while I was carrying my records to the car. Fortunately (for him, lol !) the doormen sent him on his way. Kev
