  1. I bought them from here https://www.recordst...e-2/3CGV0000000 and they cost £44.99. I sent an email to customer services in order to get the free post address, so I could send them back! This is what came back:- Hi Kevin I am sorry to hear that your item has arrived damaged. I have today arranged for your order to be resent and you should be receiving this shortly. There is no need to return the damaged item. Please accept our apologies for any disappointment or inconvenience caused by this delay. 2. https://www.amazon.com/Hymns-Corey-Glover/dp/B0000060BV/ref=tmm_acs_title_0/179-2260164-1247264 came out on cassette too, which is odd Kev
  3. Just got mine . Two are warped and two are dished. Number 000091. They're going back!
  4. As a buyer, I'm amazed at how John Manship manages to get such high values and I think what sets him apart is the fantastic selling job he does in his description If I had the money, I would snap up almost everything he has to offer. Just go and read his descriptions. Even if you have never heard the track before, he makes you want to own it. He manages to find something unique as a selling point, even if it is obvious to most of us. Anyway, I'm bound to get shot down now, but just my perspective on it. Kev
  5. Thanks Ian, I know pretty much everything else on that compilation, I must get out more often Kev
  6. Only just discovered this on Spotify, then found it as an unreleased acetate on Youtube. Anyone got any info on them and the year this was made.Sounds 70's but is probably later. Kev
  7. My wife tells me I have a selective memory, which is probably true when it comes to things that interest me, but my wife, who is not interested at all in my music collection, has a photographic memory. This allows her to win all arguments over dates, photos. In fact everything! On one occasion when we had friends round for a few beers and stayed up until 3.00am, I asked her to record a tv programme we were going to miss that night. It was in the days of video plus, when you had to put in a 6/7 digit number into the VCR. Not only did she do it whilst drunk, but recalled the exact random number the next morning when I asked if she'd remembered to do it. I think I have a better memory when it comes to collecting, but only because it interests me. Not as good as yours though Robb! Kev
  8. Thanks Sean, Got one! Kev
  9. This is a good book if you are into Motown and has a UK discography at the back. I think it is out of print so I would buy a secondhancd copy rather than paying the ridiculous amount they are asking for new. https://www.amazon.co.uk/Calling-Out-Around-World-Odyssey/dp/1900924145/ref=sr_1_1?s=books&ie=UTF8&qid=1402258761&sr=1-1&keywords=a+motown+reader+kingsley+abbott
  10. Try ordering from here. Cheaper than Amazon and says they are numbered https://www.recordstore.co.uk/recordstore/recordstore/The-Motown-7s-Box-Volume-2/3CGV0000000
  11. Will miss seeing those little penguins R.I.P.
  12. And of course this
  13. One of my favourites!
  14. Wanted on Hot Wax Demo or issue. Prefer UK copy & M-
  15. Listen to Soul Class 66 when I want an easy option and can't be bothered choosing. Also Pete's podcasts Kev
  16. Always nice to find a demo with a date stamp that pins it down to an actual day when it was processed by someone, probably at a radio station. Kev
  17. I sold an original of Saxie Russell to a guy in New York who asked for his money back because he believed the original was pale green! In fact I think I got Pete S to verify it for me because he didn't believe me.
  18. Was thinking of getting a turntable with a usb outlet. I currently use a yamaha CDR HD 1300 but it means I have to save them to the built in hard disc and then burn them to the built in cdrw. The quality is excellent, but can anyone recommend a decent quality turntable that I can use as part of my hi-fi system but can plug my laptop straight into.
  19. Great News! Barbecues in the summer or cooking a Sunday roast in the winter and listening to Richard at the same time, things don't get much better. Kev
  20. Listened for the first time this afternoon while working and really enjoyed the shows. There are a few Motown radio stations I can pick up with my Sonos, but most of them play the same old chart stuff, so it's great to hear the more obscure tracks. Don't think there is anyone else doing what your doing, here in the north west, since Dave Brown went last year. Nostalgie Motown broadcast from Paris is a bit better than most and you sometimes get a sexy french dj https://tunein.com/radio/Nostalgie-Motown-s148805/ Keep up the great work Kev
  21. Like this:- Luther Barnes.....with a name like that you couldn't be anything else, but soulful!
  22. They have it the wrong way round. You have to love the music first then that makes you want to dance. I quite fancy ballroom dancing because of the nice intimate nature, but couldn't cope with the music!
  23. Just tried to rip them using Windows Media player and it is coming up as an "unknown album". I presume it will come over time. Kev

I did the same with my dinner money spending it on TMG's and Stax records Are these the weekly release sheets you talk about. I had hundreds until my Mum threw them out, This is the only one I have left from 1973 almost 41 years ago to the week!
