  7. I can't believe this. Betty Wright - performer, writer, producer, label owner an artist who was able to span several black music genres. This was from a few years ago, Betty Wright: The Movie
  8. One of the last pioneers of rock n roll. Bone cancer, not a nice way to bow out. Thank you for the music Mr. Penniman RIP
  9. With the Roland Johnson MD release rightfully receiving plenty of plaudits some may have missed this tune https://www.mdrecords.co.uk/product/md107-ive-got-the-feelin-the-in-souls-bw-tonys-groove/ that has also been snuck out by MD Records.
  10. Sad news indeed, Nice obituary from the dear old Beeb
  11. You are so right Andy; MD Records have announced their MD 108 release will be Set Your Mind Free https://www.mdrecords.co.uk/product/md108-set-your-mind-free-roland-johnson-pre-release/ Excellent track.
  12. Love this version of "Can't Write Left Handed" by John Legend and the Roots as much as Bill's original...
  13. Nice track Rick; very Isaac Hayes Shaft influenced
  14. @Chalky Has Dean's show been "suspended" during this lockdown? Assume it is difficult getting guests to do the show under existing limitations.
  15. My Devonns LP finally arrived today; must have been quarantined!
  16. This is a good head nodder Rick; thanks for bringing it to my attention. Have been able to secure a copy from Simply Soul as well.
  17. During this lockdown time I am going through my old copies of B&S and have noticed that I am missing the chart pages for issue no. 21 (I think they were printed on a separate "pull-out" page during this period). I would be grateful if anyone could let me have a PDF scan or similar. Cheers
  18. Still Bill, Just As I Am and the previously mentioned Live at Carnegie Hill remain great albums. A very under-rated artist who wrote many classic songs that have truly stood the test of time. RIP Bill
  19. Jerry Butler is my nomination....
  20. Has anyone else who ordered this from Bandcamp received it yet? According to the delivery estimate it has been shipped and should have arrived by 26 March but I've not had mine yet. It is coming from Italy though.....
