I've got the Capitols issue. It's "Hello Stranger 66". Usual common Karen issue is midtempo vocal missing "66" in title. https://www.discogs.com/release/4511195-The-Capitols-Hello-Stranger-66-Cool-Jerk I dug it out and yes it sounds the same as Connoisseur 45. And Deon Jackson below. Looks like Riley Hampton release is on CARLA 102

I think it might have been me. Think sent Jim McClusky version too. Just sending 45s over that fitted the dancing style and swapping for Northern 45s. I deffo sent over Jackie Darnell which got booted on Rhythm too. Gene P. and Butch I reckon did them. Two dj's I knew at the time.

Most likely boot for beach music scene

I've noticed those stuck-on label 45s on UK eBay. Been going on a long time. I didn't do a deep dive into it but looked like same person or people who had hit on a way of getting more money for boots. Didn't assume it was connected to dj's.

I find this a personal affront really. After hours of training and dedication to my art I recently only managed to come 97th in the NE Lancashire championships. The judges felt that my reinterpretation of the Black Wednesday 1992 sterling crisis through the medium of dance was not quite what they were looking for. That Kev Roberts knows nothing !

He might mean this guy Watched a couple of his vids and he did have a NS list from a guy in the UK He seems pretty clueless to me. There was a guy "I buy old records" who posted a lot of vids too but he moved to Argentina so none recently He was quite witty. He was more into rockabilly but he'd pick up anything interesting. Finding Al Wilson and Honeybees sticks in my mind.

That's a proper bargain IMO. I'm looking through and have found around 15 45s so far and I think they're all very reasonable prices. It's just finding the money to buy them.

Thanks Stevie. I understand the Quarry already has a system including decks etc which will be moved to the Magnet. He's just looking for guys with experience of putting regular events on. I believe the Sink was held at the Magnet but no idea if it is still running elsewhere. I never went. I'm married. I spend enough time at the sink as it is ! Clare mentioned Liverpool weekenders. Does anyone know who runs that ?

My son is currently involved with a venue in Liverpool "The Quarry" which is in Vauxhall/Everton I believe. At the moment he's involved in a group that will be very likely taking over the Magnet in 2025 which is where the Sink club was located. He's speaking to promoters to arrange upcoming events. He's looking at the Northern scene as a potential source. I've mentioned all-dayers, all-nighters and Sunday chill-out sessions to him. If there are any members on here with experience of running events and have an interest please PM me and I'll pass on his contact email and mobile #. Anyone on here who already runs events in Liverpool may want to speak to him. I realise not too much detail there but I'm not involved other than just getting the information out there. Thanks
