  1. 25 cost $24.52 by AIR back in March. ROD
  2. Modernsoulsucks replied to a post in a topic in Look At Your Box
It's like the Freemasons on here sometimes.
  3. If you look at post #60 you will see the story. As far as I know a US dealer did get there first and he knew Tim. Maybe Greg T. I know nowt about PhilD find. Dave found the copies by looking up Massingdale [odd name] in phone book and getting hold of a relative. Cousin I think. Did the same once with John Merlino and got his son. ROD
  4. I think it's up to Big C how he goes about selling it, Pete. However his ad bumps the others downwards and as he first started selling this on here 6 months ago there's obviously some disconnection between what he wants and what he's been offered. Bottom line it seems like a waste of time again and I'd suggest he takes a different tack. Min bid? Ebay? Send to John? I think you should get involved where ads are misleading or unclear. Something like Ann Sexton [multicolored] should be 2nd issue [it wasn't a boot was it?]. Or where no gradings given. Saw an ad other day. one 45 said M-. The rest nothing. You don't know what you're buying in those instances without checking first. Massive reductions which aren't. Bargains at supposedly half price that are cracked! These are things that bug me but I understand that they won't matter to a lot of people. ROD
  5. Considering what is available a pretty poor effort. I thought there were others recently issued on striped Tamla or similar. There was talk of "Love starved heart" coming out. I may be confused but something like 5 releases for £15. The fact that they were mainly easy to get records on original seemed to have passed them by. I understand 2001's comments that they're aimed at the general Motown fan but as these recordings have been unearthed on the Northern scene it seems daft to ignore that. ROD
  6. What's the chances of vinyl releases? Gotta be around 40 they could bring out at 9.99 [same price as CD]. I think those would sell like no tomorrow. ROD
  7. https://cgi.ebay.co.uk/SHEPPARDS-/160480286096?pt=UK_Records&hash=item255d5ed590 Here's a copy that went through Ebay last night. It was VG+ As an aside to ask how much something is worth without stating condition is pretty meaningless in most instances. ROD
  8. My surname is Shard not Hawking so I've no idea how they worked. Im going for pixies or very small elves but no doubt there's a more prosaic explanation. Here's a link mentioning Supremes US eps https://www.diana-web.com/discography/textusa.html Should have mentioned the jukebox strips that are often inside these eps. ROD
  9. I have this recollection of being at the Wheatsheaf in London around late 72/early 73 [when I lived down there] and looking at a Sousson list which contained some highly dubious titles and Im wondering if that was on it? ROD
  10. I understood they were for jukebox use. ROD
  11. You may be confusing this with "Cigarette Ashes" by David Graham started by Dave McCadden in his mag. Rumours of Tony Turner "My room is [6 by6]" have been around since early to mid 70's. ROD
  12. GONE Thanks ROD
  13. Best way to go I think. As for the assertion that "modern re-issue" is clear. Not to me it isn't, on first reading on this thread. I assumed it meant re-issue of a modern soul 45. It's only clicked now that it probably refers to "recent". As there is some doubt as to it's legality I think the description is ambiguous. "Bootleg from ...." would have been perhaps more accurate. ROD
  14. If it's a legal re-issue then the bidder is at fault. If it's a boot then he is within his rights to refuse to complete the deal. ROD
  15. If anyone stumbles on this old ad and wishes to order anything I will be in France from Fri 6 August until Sunday 22 August. Thank you.
  16. Glad that got sorted. I was beginning to wonder who I was. ROD
  17. It was a Wigan c/u for Richard. I think though it's a white pop group, maybe from Connecticut.
  18. Well that's the kiss of death for that suggestion! But thanks for kind words. It may be wrong as I kinda assoiciate Glories with the Torch, long time before Morecambe [unless it was an oldies do?] ROD
  19. Reverse lines and it could be Glories "I worship you baby" Im beggin' you please, Im down on my knees ROD
  20. I have one. This 45 was around over here cheap years ago.
  21. An ode to the Rolling Stones "Is this a Jagger I see before me" Bit stuck for the rest of it ROD
  22. Have a word with Mark Bicknell. He had a copy up for offers in June. Think £1000 is very ambitious. Maybe £500? Doubt wdj or regular makes much difference to most prospective buyers. ROD
