  3. Just spotted that Manships book says that vinyl copies arent real.I must admit i just dropped a bollock by selling one as an original obviously by mistake. No big deal none of us know everything but. I bought with a batch of originals to sell on and it looked okay and even had a cut out hole in it.Are there no vinyl copies at all? Cheers Trev

  8. What John actually did in 2001 was cock it up for everybody going to the States.
  9. Has it not got Albums in it as well this time? If it has and it is a much bigger volume then i will probably bite the bullet.
  10. Glad im not the only one thinking the worlds gone mad.£200 for this is crazy. There again if it wasnt for stupid prices lately i wouldnt nearly have paid my mortgage off.Its a combination of more collectors in the world = more demand. Also from what i hear quite regularly older people taking advantage of the relaxed pension rules and spending some lump sums. Tricky
  11. Not at home so no scans but just picked up one of me favourite tunes. Diplomats - ive got the kind of love - CBS Israeli. Looks nice, solid centre 45rpm. Tricky
  12. I do 2nd class recorded at £2.50. That gives me a little leeway if im busy to pack and post and still be reasonable for delivery time.Postage is £2.30 and 20p for a new mailer. What is wrong with that. That covers 3 singles usually. That actually doesnt cover the cost of the mailers.I agree that people take advantage at times but dont buy from them.I would be more worried about stupid prices people are asking for not rare records.I am probably doing the same myself because of what i see in sales. Note to self, get a grip.
  13. Postage to UK is £2.30. Payment is cash, cheque or Paypal (friends if possible please) All VG++ with clean labels unless stated. 14. Also think they are all the same group.Havent played my Multiple Choice for yonks but sure they all include Conwell,Colbert et all. Tricky
  15. Isnt it great to find out that there are unissued Loma cuts and to hear them.I wouldnt have thought there would be any because so much stuff was leased in! Hearing Ben Aikens version of Patrice Holloway is great thank you very much. Tricky
  16. Only the British release has the exquisite Day in the blue on the flip though i believe. Tricky
  17. Would you believe there is a second cut/mix of this by her on the label and it truly IS awful.
  18. Only knew of two on Deke. What are the three please? Tricky
  19. 8O,S RECORDS Crossover really!! Not having it. Will bow out now because pointless arguing the toss. Quite a lot of years on the Soul Scene. Tricky
  20. (Crossover is a term to discribe a record that fits into both Northern Soul and Modern Soul, hence the word crossover.) I utterly and completely disagree. This is where the confusion comes from.It has nothing to do with where it was played. Tricky
  21. Right I think Chris Turnbull has it spot on.Crossover is the transitional period of Soul culminating in more sophistication some of which was played before the term became popular. However i would go so far as to say that some of my choices may be 67 to 73.My threepenybittwobobsworth would be the likes of, Kittie Doswell - Face in the crowd Nathan Williams - What price Jaqueline Jones - Frown on my face Girls - Mark my words Jo Armstead - Theres not too many more Lovations - Later baby Reggie Soul - My world of ecstacy. Primbrock Skiggs - That was yesterday James Shorter - Modern day woman Patti Ward - Girls you have to wait for love El Shobey - Never missed what you got Delilah Moore - Ill just walk away Most of Bridges Knight Eatons output falls into Crossover territory as does a lot of the West Coast stuff under the Delanier / Hangra banner like All my good loving, elevater song, love cant be modernised.Likewise with Johnny Camerons and Clarence Glovers stuff out of Chicago. Sorry im rambling now but its 4am and i cant sleep. Tricky
  22. Point accepted. In the middle of said minefield Trev
  23. Hope that reply didnt look like i was having a dig at Peter.I wasnt.Just that there is a difference in peoples understanding of Crossover and this is shown in the first two replies. It can be a minefield. Trev
  24. I was just about to say Chris had got the ethos of Crossover spot on with a good selection to start off with.IMO i would not put Buddy Smith as crossover.Great 60,s Detroit beat ballad that it is.
  25. Have often played You cant see.Cheap as chips records on a great label Windy C. Dont have to be mega bucks does it.
