Eccentric Soul - The Saru Label - Numero Group NUM071
The fact that Saru was Clevelands second most successful Indepandant logo behind Way-Out surely should of warranted better research ? Any mention of the logos owners Chuck Brown and Frank keys? No mention of Lou Ragland who went on to become the vice president of Saru . It took me the best part of 35 years to complete this logo and I feel a little let down not by the release but by the information ? Any mention of Lou getting the O Jays signed he worked for them prior to them signing in 1971 and was the driving force behind shattered man etc. Lou also played percussion for the Elements. Philadelphia International records after 71 meant this logos great work was wound down for various reasons namely talent train etc Bobby Dukes,Bobby Massey etc followed sharply.

Revilot 208 Jackey Beavers I Need My Baby. Why so rare?
I need my baby was a late casino spin covered as Mel Brit, memory bit foggy but don’t think it was covered for long. Was always a tough one to get mint imho but as said lots of knackered ones have turned up over the years. Cant say if it was a John Anderson find but certainly in with that batch of killas that got spun late 79 !

Best live performance
The Dells At Trentham Gardens was an incredible experience some doubt as to whether there would get over as Marvin Junior was poorly. Probably the highlight for me when there sang give my baby a standing ovation the windows nearly went out words just failed me ! Eddie Parker and Lorraine Chandler the night before there played Stafford at Darlington was fantastic also and not forgetting Edwin Start at the casino, such a under rated performer !

Richard Searling Book - Setting The Record Straight - News
I am looking forward to this book immensely that period from late 78 till 81 was with out doubt a golden period for rare soul music. George Kirby Paris Moses Dillard Al Williams Billy Hambrick etc , it will be hopefully a wonderful insight into a period that gave the rare soul scene a different flavour.

Spectrum Records - New York
It is the same Top Shelf as Lo Lo folks have a read below guys !! And sorry for negative feedback ive been offline on here for 5 years and pressed the wrong button lol -jeezzz will get their in the end I think ! PS Note the George Kerr connection !! Lolo Records was a Birmingham based record label. It was a subsidiary of the Nate McCalla's New York label "Calla Records", active from the 1965 to 1977. Calla records were distributed first by Cameo-Parkway, then independently, (sometimes in association with Morris Levy's Roulette Records), and in the mid 1970's by Shakat Records and CBS (Epic). Artists who recorded for Lolo include Sam Dees and Top Shelf. Producers who worked with Lolo include George Kerr and B. B. Cunningham An unrelated "LoLo Records", active since 1991, is located in Roxobel, North Carolina.
