  1. Shame its only NS tracks as the LP version of the Floaters - Float On would win hands down...
  2. It got played a bit on the London Jazz scene in the mid 80's as an alternative to Eddie Bishop, et al.
  3. I had a high expectation when this was announced and was quite underwhelmed when I saw it. I thought they could have dug a bit deeper, but I suppose all the best unreleased stuff has already been picked dry. There's some great CD only tracks which could benefit from a vinyl release. Saying that, its nice to see Joni Wilson get wider access, which will probably lead it to be dropped from Up-Front playlists. So we might see some coming to the market.
  4. Thought this was one of the private pressings made just for friends
  5. an addition is: 557 - Willie Tee - First Taste Of Hurt / I'm Having So Much Fun
  6. I followed a link from discogs and found this. https://www.garagehangover.com/monotones/ If its the same Mark Loyd, it says his real name was Nigel Basham
  7. The problem with that, its the seller who takes the risk if a package gets lost or damaged in transit not the buyer. They're the ones who have to put in a claim on the postal service for loss or damage, which is why some sellers are less happy putting a low value on the packages as that's the amount they can claim if anything goes wrong.

Ecko did release a few singles over about a 5 year period, but I believe that stopped around 2000.
  9. last couple sold on ebay in 2012 one for nearly $1,000, both VG- and from the write up both looks like they're from the same seller. A mighty rare record.
  10. It was released as part of the Columbia Disco Series and I think all of those releases were individual special edits.
  11. This UK release as well as the others such as Breakwater, were all linked to the Rare Groove phenomenon going on at that time, where BMG leveraged off of its Arista/Ariola back catalogue.
  12. I've got one I can send through
  13. I'm unsure if they can any more, as the majority of the mainstream venues just seem to have the same names from back in the good old days.
  14. There is an original 7" from 91 as well.
  15. Does any one know if it was it dubbed form record or from master tapes?
  16. UK Spring/Polydor changed their 7" design in 1979 think the "Fatback Band - You're My Candy Sweet" was the first one, where the catalogue number on the right hand side changed from horizontal to vertical. Also the 1979 release doesn't state "From the Spring LP Free & In Love", whereas the 1976 release does.
  17. There are two pressings of #206 one credited to the Staple Singers and the other credited to the Stapleton Singers
  18. Theres a couple of Staple Singers releases in this series
  19. if its a real one you could be talking between £500 to a grand
  20. John Manship has recently put one on his site for £30, which I think is quite reasonable for one of the "tricky issues"
  21. This would sound better on an episode of the Love Boat than a soul night in 2012
