    Yes i agree also, Debra Anderson is a different vocal and better in my opinion, she also had a 45 released on uk Seville which was a Drive (Florida) label release, but not in the same league. Rob h.

    As a 13-14 year old i can remember getting Song for Aretha by Pretty Purdie on Flying Dutchman in a soul pack, his scream on the intro of that record is phenomenal (is that how you spell it), gotta be a contender. Rob h.

    very sad news indeed, i only heard a couple of weeks ago that he was not well, met him years ago whilst he was producing his Hot Buttered Soul mag, and met him numerous times since either at record fairs or out socially, always a happy smile and genuinely glad to chat and catch up on things, will be missed.     It is with sadness that i recieved an e mail fron David Yeates this morning, announcing that Johhny Carter of the Dells has died of lung cancer. a sad loss and an end of a true super group. R.I.P. Rob h.

    make sure you get the Hip O Select copy (2 cd,s) as it came out on Motown previously with same title but only one disc, with the track you need not on it, cheers Rob h.

    From memory isnt the candlelite a slightly different take, either the girl vocals missing or the piano parts not so pronounced? I have the candlelight copy and mines in good nick. Rob h.

    I have the USA 45 also, Thank your mother and your father ( which is actually "The great creation" b side of its my turn, b/w we can over come with love, duet with Doris Young, a mid pacer that unfortunatly does not quite work, not for me anyway. The Palos 45 seems to elude me, I agree that the jewel in the crown for Billy is its my turn, got my copy (maroon) off mr Dearlove many moons ago at an Essence weekender, top tune. Rob h.

    this is from her cd my love is your love, a cd full of re-makes of northern records, a few decent covers too, check out , i,m so happy & home is where the hatred is, you should be able to pick the cd up for very little, these are Ian Levine productions i believe. Not sure if DSAW had a single release tho. cheers Rob h.
