Looking for stacks of Northern Soul singles
Hi Youyou, Ask around cos most collectors "upgrade" and get cleaner copies and rid of toons in lesser condition. Got plenty of stuff lying about myself but just too lazy to list it all. I keep saying to myself, "one of these days............" Haydn.

AMNESTY
When the Casino was flooded from every direction with styles of sounds, I am sure some people may have turned their nose up at them, but only the ones that were "in the know". I know many a guy whose spirit was dampened upon reaching the Casino to find all sorts of "pap" played but this only fueled their desire to find the good sounds. With every bad (as in bad, not baaad!) sound there are another ten to be found that will prove their worth. Thus the adventure in finding something that has been missed or not even found. Ho hum, where's my copy of Gene Toones!!!!!! Not H

Big Frank Murphy
Vastly underrated man, could do with a listing of his releases just to hear more. So this may rule out Big Frank that plays dominoes down the 'vic. Somebody spilt his pint last week, lol. H

A REPLY FROM KEV ROBERTS
In which case he will need a " liscaawnce for this minkey". Doesn't it seem strange though that certain elements have their defence lines up straight away as if to distance themselves from the source????? H

DANCE STYLE?
Just wondering how many different styles of dancing people give it when they are in full swing. I like the odd stomper to get my bones stretched and obviously different styles of dancing come on with a certain type of record, but what do you think is your style alone that picks you out from the crowd? H.

Alright Tubbs? I've got to say that anybody that I speak to from the west coast that's been up to the Belmont has always enjoyed it, myself included so I can't understand a drastic reply like "shite". What kind of sounds would this fella have played? Is he promoting the scene as much as you and Riddell? Everybody is a critic good or bad but negative criticism should be followed by advice to give you an idea of where if anything you went wrong. I know this regulars reaction won't stop the nights so keep it up and hopefully I will see you all soon. All the best Haydn fae Girvan

Records that make you happy
Picture the scene, Mature student standing alone at the train station, people watching as you wait for that 4.30 train home that is always late. A humble soulful voice echoing in the back of your mind as you wish the train would hurry up and take you away from this platform of despair. Men, women, kids, the odd tramp and general nobody's. Mr Don Thomas building up his vocals helping you to will the train along, knowing that these nobodies will never escape their hum-drum lives. But come the weekend your soul will be free and dancing to sounds that no-one can imagine. Don Thomas- Come on Train always hits me at this time, never ending class. H.

More Ebay problems
Recieved a few bad copies myself and it severely pisses you off when it is advertised as excellent condition. It takes up a bit of time but make a record of your buys and condition so that you know who or who not to deal with. There are a lot of sales from U.S. that you wouldn't buy from a junk shop and seems even a waste of money paying p&p on it. H

Rance Allen - Showdown
Pity, trying to get rid of one,lol

Rance Allen - Showdown
You will find that Archie Bell covered it on Atlantic as a type of "dance" showdown with the words changed from Rance Allen version. Both good tracks but Rance Allen wins due to the harmony of vocals. Great to see it getting the plays nowadays. H.

Quiet please!!! Gene, I watched that recently on satellite especially for Brotherhood of Man's- "Reach out your hand". That's a good groove on that tune, any body know who who wrote it????? Also on the reruns (ooer!) was Adrienne Posta's acting in "Till death do us part". Oh how I laughed, H. ...........I'll get me remote control!!!!!!!!
