Some sad news that Mrs.Hilda Woods,the lady that worked on the door at Wigan Casino,passed away on Oct 27th, aged 88yrs. Still passionate about the Heart of Soul,her favourite person was Jethro from Wolverhampton.
Although rather frail I took her to the Casino Exhibition, this time last year. The funeral is Thursday Nov 3rd at St.James, Poolstock, Wigan 2.30.

Lynn a close friend of many of us on this site and an integral part of the London soul scene died on Wednesday.
Lynn DJed for us at the 100 Club and in the upstairs room at Cleethorpes on several occasions usually appearing as “That Girl Lynn”. She was one of London’s soul scene’s most avid and passionate supporters and was a close friend to many of us.

Outside of the Tops, Renaldo Obie Benson was best-known for writing Marvin Gaye's 1971 classic What's Going On after witnessing a scuffle between police and peace demonstrators in San Francisco.
