Some sad news that Mrs.Hilda Woods,the lady that worked on the door at Wigan Casino,passed away on Oct 27th, aged 88yrs. Still passionate about the Heart of Soul,her favourite person was Jethro from Wolverhampton. Although rather frail I took her to the Casino Exhibition, this time last year. Luther Vandross,whose Dance With My Father won four Grammys in 2004, died at 1:47p.m. at the John F. Kennedy Medical Center in Edison, New Jersey, according to his spokesperson. Details on the exact cause of death have not been released. Maybe not so familiar to UK soulies, but legendary radio broadcaster Georgie Woods, who introduced Philadelphia to the sounds of Little Stevie Wonder and the Temptations and took active part in the 1960s civil-rights movement, has died.
