Another monumental night at Ashton Ukrainian Club, hats off to our regular and new attendees on a really busy weekend, we had another full house. Which is testament to the quality and varied playlists and the "IT" factor atmosphere with a capitol A!!

Speaking to Rob Haigh, he compared it to the heady days at Lea Manor, Albrighton, high praise indeed!!

The early start, still had people streaming through the doors at 7pm, every table in the room was taken by 7.30pm. The stand out ethos for the club, is it's a TEAM effort, no superstars and a really nice touch from one of our regulars Rowena Ribena Morgan was the collection/flowers for our hard working bar staff, Helga and the ladies were overwhelmed, we couldn't run the event without their help, because they do it as volunteers for the club!!

Onto the important stuff, the music WOW!! off the chain and then some. Phil Dunn digging deep into the collection for a great opening set!! Mr Motivator AKA Stu Cheetham, was having a ball pulling out gem after gem, great set sir!!

Our "late substitute" Simon Ingham WOW what can I say, check out the attached video for a snippet of a top quality hour!!

I had the unenviable task of following him, thanks for the positive feedback, makes it all worthwhile Kenny Carlton "lost and found" seemed to hit the spot, reactivation time?

The "Double Deckers" Brian Lester and Lord Ashton Chris Churm took to the stage and blew it out of the park, another" you had to be there" set take a bow boyz!!

Chris Penn finished the night off in fine style with some top notch rarities, grey imprint, Notations and many more, Buddy Ace "screaming please" struck a chord with the dancers, a nice touch and really pleasing to see the floor full to the last record.

We do it all again Saturday April 15th, please keep your eye on the events page on here and soul-source!!

AS Bobby Patterson sang.." What A Wonderful Night " ( and indeed even that got a spin out ) the place was rocking!!, have to say: these bar ladies do an astonishingly good job, with ever present smiles and graciousness...and i think they genuinely enjoy the music and the chat as well...and all completely free service, though its awfully fitting that they should have a lovely gesture made to them in the form of a collection.

I know Dave & Wendy were in the building but i couldve sworn someone was playing a tribute to him as a good many of one particular set, are in Dave's playbox!!🤣🤣 and wouldve certainly been aired at " The Manor " WELL DONE, THAT MAN!👏👏👏

Awesome sets from all concerned including our Radiator table resident, Mick Howard.....Paul " Chopper " Harris as well....dear dear!!, ill bet theres a few wooden legs this fine sunny Mother's Day.

The star rating goes without saying, recover your breath and energy and get ready to go-go again on April 15th.....2000+ ss views cant be wrong!😉👍🎵💃🕺🎶

WELL DONE, TEAM!👏👏👏
