Johnny Sayles - I Can't Get Enough Of Your Love does it for me every time.

Brilliant choice -- my choice till I settled on Bobby Freeman. Are these guitar players related?

RayAgee - Im losing again.

Rick

Executive Four - I've Got a Good Thing Going - awesome intro.

Couple from me.

Steinways - "You've been leading me on"

Herbert Hunter - "Love has taken over me"

Good choices mate, especially herbie hunter, what about naughty boy for an intro

classic......del larks

now.........dewy black and john wesley

Seven Souls - I Still Love You

Brings shivers down my spine everytime,

especially if a certain girl I know is on the dance floor unsure.gif

marching on together

Great song with a great drum intro took me a lot of years of being outbid to get one of these,

But my answers would be something like

Temptations

"I Wish it Would Rain"

And Four Tops

"Ask The Lonely"

Jesse James If you want a love affair "whats my sign"

Ritchie Barrett - some other guy. Two guitar notes and then it all happens, rnb, jamaican backbeat, all blended, what's not to like? A track that happens somewhere in the mid atlantic. Cracking.

The bonkers everything but the kitchen sink style intro is one thing...

On a minimalist tip please consider the simple but sublime intro that is:

I Get The Sweetest Feeling - Jackie Wilson

Instantly recognisable - tells you everything you need to know and all in about ten seconds.

Job Done. Get in there. Or that type of thing...

I would agree with that

I would third it, but would raise it with Larry Clinton intro, just menacing music, clarion call to create a space on dancefloor,

Off to bed music recording finished.

Gnight!

Willie Kendrick "She'll Be Leaving You"

Topics "Have Your Fun"

Richard Anthony "No Good"

Tamala Lewis "You Wont Say Nothing"

Damon Fox "Packing Up"

And many, many more...

got to admit no matter how many times you hear it this still does it

dee dee sharp

how about this

ROZETTA JOHNSON / MINE WAS REAL

Vibrations 'Cause you're mine

Dells Run for cover

Soul Bros Inc - Pyramid.

It's simplicity is it's charm. A good scene setter intro.

Lou Rawls.. Dead end street  ..

Good choice.

Lou does pack an awful lot of information into his intro. I'm sure he mentions what colour underpants he is wearing and what he had for tea the night before. :D

THE DEL LARKS - JOB OPENING...after 35+ years of listening to soul music this never fails to get the adrenaline flowing.

Jimmy Raye......Philly dog around the world. Opening intro, then NEW YORK CITY..........then........Whooooosh and we,re off.

Good choices mate, especially herbie hunter, what about naughty boy for an intro

they just keep coming to me .....

Mousie & Traps - How About You

Astors - Twilight Zone

Harley Hatcher - Soul Hustler

Pat Powrill - Do It............starts as it means to go on!!

Arthur Freeman - You Got Me Uptight

For me it has to be The Temptations - Ain't Too Proud to Beg it's great once you start hearing or Jackie Wilson - Higher and Higher
