Posted November 6, 200915 yr I see John has listed an issue of this for auction. I find this suprising as I'd have thought it was a £50 - £75 record or have I missed some key fact like Butch is playing it?

I don't understand how certain records qualify for auction other than they are interesting rather than rare. he has a reggae single, Lynn taitt - El casino Royal, it's not rare in the slightest, I've had a dozen copies in the last 5 years and have one now, the most I've ever asked for one is £30 in mint condition. Thats in JM's auction at the moment.
November 6, 200915 yr hi ged john was asked about this (other tunes but same question) and it is not always the rarity but that sometimes he has so many people asking for a tune that he will auction it to make it fairer. hope that makes sense. i would put it between £50 to £75.00 tune as well. mark Edited November 6, 200915 yr by mark.b

Now a demo with the group biography would be a different matter I think.

With the search data held on Johns site, he can sum up how many hits there are. Naturally by putting it into auction he can see how badly some people want it. In this case how much they want to pay . it will be interesting to see what someone will pay for it. Quite amazing to think you would trip over this record again and again in the past, laying in a sellers box. Frank
November 6, 200915 yr Old Gary Rushbrooke discovery / spin , was'nt it ? yes paid £8 for mine at the time
November 6, 200915 yr Old Gary Rushbrooke discovery / spin , was'nt it ? Kinda, I played it originally at my local (often) in 1973/74. I remember hearing Gary play it at Lincoln Drill Hall in 79 covered up (forget who by... ???). You could have knocked him down with a feather when I went on stage and told him who the artist was and that I'd played it years ago. Pretty sure Gary was first (or one of the first) to play it at an AllNighter though. Sean

No, I think the story is, I played it to Butch, altough Dave Thorley and Brad Hales listened to it in the car on one of my tapes in May. So I was asking them for their opinion. All of them said it's a great record. So it should be around 300 ukp in Jms auction now, as I think, we were talking about it in public.:whistling::lol: Ahhhhhhh! no, it's really ridicioulous to auction this record, altough it is a great one. cheers, MArtin
November 6, 200915 yr No, I just thought about it one more time. Butch was just polite, as he always is, that's why he said it was good. Though still should be 250 ukp on JM auction:thumbsup: Martin

The blokes a businessman & it's about him making as much money out of stupid people as he can

Must have been a "biggie" somewhere in UK cos it sounded so great with all the people singing along. Didn't say where it was recorded....
