Not a Detroit label Nige. It was an L.A. label and more focussed on Pop/Rock......

Many thanks so far!

But there DOES appear to be at least 2 Sunflower Labels

The one im trying to find out about is Deffo Detroit

It has an address of Oakman Boulevdard Detroit!

The Jean Carter release seams like the one a yellow label if i remember!

Was there ANY OTHER releases???

Thanks for posting so far

Nige

The Jean Carter Sunflower is Detroit. Isn't the lab design a sunflower, yellow petals on dark background. Aren't all the jean carter poor recordings too and only a few hundred pressed because of this?

And was Sidney Barnes involved on some capacity?

He was on the one i posted Chalky - chicago address on that sunflower one.

got it in my head it ws Detroit, knew it wasn't the one Ian as talking about. I can vaguely remember Sidney talking about the Jean Carter when he first came over here.

Not mixing it up with the Decca 45 that was poorly recorded are you Chalky, she'd be unlucky to have two stinkers out with her name on it!

dunno mate, got it in my head the Sunflower press was not tip top quality either, again thinking it was something Sidney Barnes mentioned as well. Not had the record for years. Could be the grey matter getting rather clouded Ady

Here is the Love Hangover side.

All of these pressings are pretty terrible - I have had quite a few and some have skipped. Probably the worst pressing I have seen on a 45.

Cheers
