Thought I would add a few missing Darrow Fletcher tracks to Refosoul. This one is mentioned above & is the not-often-seen flip of the release of Rising Cost of Love.

I'm just in the middle of putting together a complete Darrow Fletcher CD (for personal use only of course) & I'm one track missing if anyone can help, as mine's a demo & doesn't have the flip.

The track in question is "Let's Get Together" on Atco 7083

If anyone can help then please send a decent mp3 to sonicfortunes@btinternet.com

ATB, Craig

great track, and easily the rarest of Darrow's recordings......

Great topic, this is the reason i joined a forum called soul source, just about a superb artist and the music that was made, i have most of the 45's listed and possibly think 'Infatuation'

' and 'no mistake' to be my favourites.

OK, so here is my theory.

If you look at the interview with Darrow Fletcher from the Xmas 1975 Blues & Soul, he talks about recording an album. I reckon that the tracks he recorded were:

It's No Mistake

Try Something New

We've Got To Get An Understanding

This Time (I'll Be The Fool)

Improve

Let's Get Together

Rising Cost Of Love

Honey, Can I

So all the singles released from 1975 onwards were from that session referred to in the article.

Live version of "Rising cost of love" at our Dig Deeper night this past January in Brooklyn. Hope to get versions with better audio up eventually - have been too busy booking this year's Brooklyn Soul Festival:

Cheers for that Ady, as didn't know that you'd put it out on CD.

I actually got it off a blog site about Darrow & they weren't any details on who'd put it out.

I'm assuming it's an Atlantic recording, & where there anymore stuff?

There weren't really any Atalntic recordings those were all recordings for Ray Charles Tangerine subsidiary label Crossover. This was neither, it was an independent Chicago production.

I love snippets of useless information. I've been meaning to start a topic just for snippets like this, stuff too small for a topic of its own.

Speaking of which, Darrow is trying to get a hold of Rose - does anyone happen to know her whereabouts?

ps - Thanks for the kind comments on the photo from our night, above...all thanks should be directed to Jacob Blickenstaff who has been documenting most of our nights and countless other soul events around the US. He's currently got an exhibit of his work up at the Stax museum. He's got an incredible eye for capturing the moment - he is going to go far as a photographer...
