just watched a 40 minute clip on tammi terrell at tvoneonline.com ,interviews with ashford & simpson,weldon macdougal,harry weinger and her sister also here clips of her singing accapella on few motown classics ,it's available till 27th sept enjoy..

As a massive fan of hers (and the duets with Marvin) this has answered a lot of questions and showed what a wonderful talent she was, don't think I've been so moved to tears like this for a long time.

Just caught this,,,,,,,,,,,,,,, fantastic stuff & very emotional, we can only imagine what recordings she would have gone on to give the world.

I played Tammi and ' Come on and see me' at Gloucester allnighter last night to a packed floor and applause at the end. It followed the Moments, Velours, Betty Loyd, etc. Went down a treat and not first time i dropped it into a set with great response. A truly great artiste. RIP.

Stunning...essential viewing for everyone on here.

Learnt a lot from that...about Tammi, Motown and life.

yep,.....absolute classic, one of the greatest singers never to achieve her full potential tragically, would probably have blown ms ross clean out of the water...with all respect, had she lived....why, oh why, has it taken so long to pay this tribute?....fitting then, that hipo have pulled out all the stops to re-dress the balance with another prize dbl-cd for the collection and as if to make the saliva drip uncontrolably, never-before released tracks from the vaults.....i would astutely hazard a guess, the painstaking efforts of eminent historian, harry weinger.

a touching documentary then permeated by the sublime singing of the free spirited talent that was and always will be,....tammi terrell.

i presume hipo's trade embargo is still in place....if so i assume the normal channel for purchasing this product will be through soulbrother.co.uk

if anyone knows any different it would helpfull to post here.

She sang it on her TV show with... urgh.... er... Englebert Humperdinck.

It was eventually released on one of those CDs that contains every last thing they can find on an artist, even if it has an announcer and bad mixing.  Sorry, can't remember the title.  My brain is trying to spare me the pain.

Well it's still up, or at least it was, I've just been watching but it froze at 23:44.

It's obviously low budget, but I think it's maybe all the better for that.  I love the way in all the still pictures Marvin is various degrees of taller than Tammi, but in the moving pictures she's very slightly taller, thanks to her high heels.

It does make you wonder though, how many years did James Brown and David Ruffin quite literally knock off Tammi's life?  The more I learn about JB the more I hate his guts...  Sometimes you're better off not knowing.

By all accounts Brown was a pure bastard, not just with Tammi but to everyone who crossed his path or played in his band, he preached not to take drugs but was a user himself, full of shit he was but never the less a dynamic performer.

It's well documented about Ruffin's slow spiral into drug abuse but although they fought with each other I don't think he was responsible for her condition as her sister tells us it was on going when she was a child with severe headaches.

I love that woman with a passion and wish she was still with us :lol:

just thought i'd advise, as i recieved a communique from soulbrother records whom i have purchased hipo cds before. as youre all probably aware, hipo only release in the states and have had an export embargo to europe in force for nearly 10 years and there is no change in that stance. many of you may have contacts in the states who can quite easily ship you one anyway, but as regards using credit cards or purchasing by main retailers, its a no-go. its currently priced at $29.99. in the u.k. as and when soulbrother obtain copies, and they are suggesting no sooner that mid-november, it wll be priced at £39.99...of course thats not to say that john, tim or any of the other northern dealers wont be able to supply them, but failing that soulbrother will be the best bet. remember, these will be limited edition and, as its a anniversary comp, its liable to sell very fast...and they NEVER re-press, hence the motown years 1966 10 cd set selling for staggering money on e-bay.

a reappraisel, for anyone intent on purchasing the forthcominf cd.....its is widely available via amazom.com $35.99, add $7 for shipping. order now to recieve by november 15 - 6 december. listen to the soundfiles before you do, it is a truely eclectic mix...her voice sounds as fresh and vibrant as if it were recorded yesterday, amazing to think she actually duetted with jimmy radcliffe!

( 30/11/2010)....only a small piece but very praiseworthy....cant believe he's beaten lois at record collector to the plaudits, nevertheless, a great addition to the collection.:yes:

if the price is correct, as you suggest, then why is it currently costing $42 inclusive of shipping, surely this cant be right?. id understand if it was released through universal here, as was with the isley brothers anthology, so why the staggering price differential?

finally recieved my copy of the double cd,this morning, 3 weeks overdue but worth the wait. firstly eyeballed the now, legendary booklet and, these things really ARE a joy to behold as always with hipo, allied to that the fact that the hand of harry weinger is very firmly at the helm of all hipo's output. succinctly delicious montage of photo's, brief yet concise annotation and of course, encyclopedic documentation of all tammi's vinyl contributions during her brief tragic life, encompassing sceptre/wand, checker and motown. i wont hesitate to say i advise EVERYONE to add this to their collections...it is the be all and end all.:lol::yes:
