I am listening to the new 3CD set of 70s Motown albums on a train right now and it is great. 'Moody Junior' just played - what an immense slice of sophisticated funk soul. I remember Rob Smith telling me he tried talking with the great man as Jr sat in just turban and underwear after an early Nottingham gig he DJed at, Jr sat sweating buckets, breathing heavily and not in the best frame of mind to answer Rob's questions, no doubt about about Soul label demos or similar.
