  • Should have gone to the original skeggy weekender no fights there just two rooms of top class soul :-):-)

  • Keith Minshull?   Yeah God's..... He is one of our own legends and a senior by anybodies measure.   Despicable action. These plonkers deserve naming and shaming, and banning.

Anybody who starts fighting at a soul do deserves punching IMHO 😀

Probably some drunken kno*  head  with no  interest in soul music

Quote from Ian Levine for those not on Facebook :

Keith Minshull was attacked by two drunken yobs just because he tried to stop them taking away the chair next to him with his jacket on it. They can't have been proper soulies - I was DJing onstage at the time so it was right in front of me. The bouncers were brilliant and got the yobs out before they could hurt him apart from whacking him on the head. Apparently as they pushed the yobs outside one of them fell on the concrete hitting his face, hence the blood. Unwarranted violence can happen anywhere but the bouncers were BRILLIANT in protecting Keith Minshull.

I was there last year and saw only a load of folks having a great time.

So sad. Last time I saw a fight at a proper soul event was in 1979. It was about a girl.....and the 2 lothario's were ejected pdq.

not sure what time it happened, we had left at 1am Monday morning and heard nothing unless this was afterwards. Hope Keith is OK
