Great record from 1973, Gene Barge produced, recorded at Ter Mar Studios in Chicago, anyone care to speculate who was in this Drifters line-up and who sang lead ?

Absolute Timeless Classic Drifters spin - Up On The Roof

Confession time :g: I remember singing along to Some Kind Of Wonderful when my then sweetheart insisted I took her to see the Dirty Dancing Film at the local flicks, made my night hearing this cracker come on.

So many of  these wonderful records bring back memories for me at school and just after, loads played in the clubs I frequented. What with their changes of personnel and style they leave a great legacy.

Here's the first record by the Drifters, featuring Clyde McPhatter on lead vocal. I would say this is a very important record in the history of rhythm and blues.
