hi,
I think this question is more for the veterans, but who knows ...
Can someone tell me the name of this man: The guy with the suspensers!

I have always seen him - I think - in connection with Randy Cozens on old pictures. But am not absolutely sure ...
What was he a guy in the scene at that time. Since he appeared on many photos again and again, I just assume that he also had a certain reputation by his doing or being.
Very gladly more info
Thanks a lot

Bub  ( RIP ) would love the thought of you describing him as wearing suspenders. I know its lost in translation my friend.  Here in the UK we actually call them Braces.

Can't be very many people from the UK NS Scene that didn't Know or Rubbed Shoulders with "The Mighty Bub" at some time Or "BOB" as Some Numpty Called him on a TV NS Documentary which i have to admit d

yes thank you. have found material especially also here on SoulSource.
But who was he? When did he die? Have read Chalky spoke of a tragic accident?

Was he an influential DJ / record collector / good friend?

Maybe someone knows another nice anecdote.
Thanks

He was certainly unique.

A man mountain, in every way.

DJd pretty much everywhere, and was a very friendly guy.

Used to finish off at Cleethorpes Winter Gardens all dayers, and played to and for the crowd.

He even appeared as a child extra in the film KES...

He was famous for his Arthur Scargill,  The 'Coal Miners', And the The Iron Lady 'Margaret Thatcher' Monologues during his DJ sets, he was quite unique, was quite the lad and an expert at cleaning each record before he put it on the decks, a circular motion on the front of his vest or T Shirt, He was always up for a game of footy on the Beach at Cleggy But you went in for a tackle with Bub at your Peril as he was a 'Big Lad', yes a Character very much missed by many who Knew and Loved him as a Friend

Bub passed away through ill health. The world became a lesser place when he left, particularly the NS scene IMHO, a joy to be around,

cheers Sutty

Last time I saw Bub DJ was at Staveley - think it was a miners hall, it was that long ago you could still smoke inside 🤔 - whenever he was on, it lifted the room, always interesting what he was going to say between records, managing to get swear words in that seemed to fit 😂🤣 If you missed Bub DJing you’re loss - one of life’s real big NS characters 👍🏻👍🏻

There's a great chapter heavily involving Bub in Young Soul Rebels by Stuart Cosgrove. Well worth a read.
