Nice meeting you too! Wish we could've talked a bit more, but that loud music in the background made it a bit tricky. Some really nice stuff you played as well! :D

Exportations at least double the usual price

Preston Foster another c&w record what utter crap IMO

Gotta say I wasn't overly keen on the Preston Foster record either.....much better r&b records records out there than this. The Sity & James one that John had previously for a start.....

don't know the 2 45s you're talking about above so i don't know if it's the same label, but there's a freeman brothers on a sprout label

it's outa Bronx, New York Johnny Richardson & Sity are the same label.

R&B indies has the record you mention listed as The FREEDOM BROTHERS do you have the record? Is it FREEMAN or FREEDOM and is it any good?

It's freeman, the indies book is wrong. It's pretty good, I can't make a soundclip of it now, but I vaguely remember some discussion of the record a while back on this forum somewhere, maybe it's in refosoul?

I have a mint- Delegates Of Soul I'd sell for £400 inc P+P if anyone is/knows the second highest bidder.

Thanks

JT

that's it, but the track is actually called "life of love", at least on the 45 I have

quite right boba. a typo the record I have is ''life of love''

Preston Foster - C&W? Deffo not - Ok its not your conventional northern its a quirky tune that will appeal to the same people who dance to Hayes Cotton - one of those where the vocal is so bad its good - definitely one of those love it or hate it tunes but it will appeal to a cross section of the scene IMO of course rolleyes.gif and spot on about the Exportations fetched much more than I expected - over the past year there have been copies regularly through ebay
