Thinking about a section purely for swaps/trades.

Would welcome members views on the worth of this.

Thinking about stuff we've bought blind, records we have grown tired of etc. Threads of lists of records up for swapsiz ...

I know people list records for sale/trade, but how many trades actually go on? Would a bespoke swaps section be of interest? Maybe records you hadn't thought of selling specifically, but there's usually a few that we're not fussed about that others might well be ...

Anyway as said would welcome your views.

uncannily i was thinking along same lines a bit back myself ,great for people who arent lookin for profit but happily exchanging someone elses wants for your current wants.

I'd welcome a trade/swap section with open arms - Done a few on here already and been happy with the results. Always looking to crack a little deal.

A dedicated area would give us somewhere to specifically search.

I think trading on here is a good idea and I've done it. I'm not sure about a seperate section, though, because most of the times I've traded it's been for people's sale items. Most people selling are open to trade since they're selling to get other records. Having a separate section would just mean two places to look.

SUPPOSE THE SIMPLE ANSWER IS TO LIST IN SALES AND PUT "TRADES OR SWAPS" AS WELL AS FOR SALE !

Yep that's true and a good point. Does everyone necessarily know that a seller is going to be up for a trade though? I know folk sell records to buy more, but I'm thinking of people like Bearsy as he posted above, don't like selling records, but would post a list for purely trades. That way he's lost nothing? Some of these records are expensive as we know too well. Thought maybe this way would be more out in the open... Sort or redistribution of soul as it were!

Yep thats what we already have in place. Maybe stay that way might be the best option. Could be though lists for trades would mean more swapsiz taking place (I know I'd look) and if people end up outing what they consider is a crap record in return for a good one and vice versa for just the cost of postage, that is what may be interesting to pursue further?

Half the people reading the sales section don't actually read the small print, or sometimes the large print, especially when I put the message "SORRY NO TRADES OR OFFERS" and thats then followed by ten people asking me if I want to do trades or will take offers....

We can swap whatever we like really. Would have thought 45's would be # 1, but albums, cd's, reissues, wigan badges..

I've found a couple of would be mods to assist Simsy with this.
