Thanks. I read it was the last release on US Bareback, any of the other tracks on the label get a release in Italy?

i don't know...the question is "any other good release on the label?" the few i heard were horrible, maybe the beverly crosby one is nice but has never been released in italy as far as i know.

Cal Brandon's "24 Hour Love Man" b/w "I Kept On Smilin" got a release on Bareback (as well as on Hitman) and I think both sides on that 45 are good.

Have to agree, I started to collect the label, but of what I had, they were mostly dire apart from Beverly Crosbly

Don't forget the sOphisticated Ladies which was a minor jazz funk sore.

Not seen a Bareback US copy, but I have it on MAY HEW & the UK Bareback issue. Not that bad a record IMO.

Also the APO releases (art Polemus)

I don't know where mine went, but I can't remember them being great.

The story was that Wil Collins came out just as the label went bust (releases weren't in order) and thus wasn't distributed properly.

Someone told me he was also Willie Colon, true?

Wonder how many copies it sold in italy?

Strange, was he of Italian decent?

I thought he was the same Willie Collins who later recorded for Capitol in the 80s? An ex postie.....

Certainly didn't think he was of Italian extraction. Where does that come from?

the APo stuff is mainly ballads, but I'll have to dig them out now to check. Seem to recall a duet featuring Will & Beverley but now maybe MY memory is playing tricks. :D

I will check my Bearback collection too, think I've got a few others - anyway we did a label listing in Blackbeat so there must have been more than we've listed so far.

Will Collins also recorded on Mercury, OK uptempo but nowhere near as good as "Anything I can do". "Don't fight the feling" it was called. Got it for 10p when Black Wax iN Streatham was closing it's doors. Found two copies of "AICD" in Mile End for 10p each in about 84, traded the spare to Clarkie for Maurice Jackson on Parall  Ho hum....
