August 14, 200816 yr Dramatics - Inky dinky wang dang doo.....Woooh! Simon Very, very massive circa '72, must have been the lyrics that done it can't imagine anyone playing it now (though I suspect someone will post up it was played last week at BIDDS or sumfink!)

August 14, 200816 yr Tend to agree Pete.. I wish that sort of 70s was a bit more fashionable these days. One or two more from 75/76: World Column, So Is The Sun .... Al Foster, Night of The Wolf (awesome!) Dave Thorley kinda "re-activated" World Column last year and myself was including this here and there to from time to time. Fantastic Oldie that sounds very fresh these days. Al Foster has seen some reactivation thru the Funk Scene. I did include this as well whenever I was booked to play 7ts Soul last year. Marc

August 15, 200816 yr Chester Pipkin is really the SWEET on Smash. can you also pinpoint a record or two more, as my memory of a lot of these records/artists escape me now. i still thought joe mathews sang: i dont like to lose until a few years ago! i was way too busy dancing to bother about the names of artists etc... "i've been loving you too long"- female lead, someone post it on a soundbite pleeeese. "salt and pepper"- male lead, a wigan hit. "never"- female lead, early 70's? absolute classic. thank you, whoever you were, for the gary dean... anyone got "city lights" two great floor-fillers!

August 15, 200816 yr Have I missed something, what's wrong with this? philh, if you like the record thats fine. we cant all love the exact same records. why has tommy hunt not, to my knowledge, been posted up on these pages recently? his "cracking up" and "get out" were extremely popular in the 70's.... or was that just me.

August 15, 200816 yr Jumping at the Go Go - fabulous record. well done pete. the outsiders-loneley man- is one of the greatest records of all time. "ever again" bernie williams is playing as i write, from a wigan soundbite 1977. what a tremendous record, and the tremendous memories of standing clapping 3 times to the chorus!!! brilliant!
August 15, 200816 yr Not quite as massive as 'I'm standing' Rufus Lumley 'I'm standing' was an awesome tune one of my all time favs. 'Stronger than me' was a huge tune at the Yate all-nighters back in the day and was an album only cut unless you had a dodgy acitate. Are they the same guy?

August 16, 200816 yr Picked loads of copies up of this for 20p each in about 1980, gave quite a few away....it was released in 1979 on Contact it didn't make a lot of headway then, still a have one copy left & I actually quite like it, I read once that it was one of Russ Winstanley all time faves.....is that a pro or a con? KTF Baz Got it Diane Ducane "Better Late Than Never"
