Hello,

Some of you may remember my previous posts asking for soulies to answer questions for my PhD research into ageing music fans. Thanks very much if you responded.

I'm after a bit more help please. I'm currently writing up my research findings and am trying to think of a catchy title for my chapter on northern soul. Are there any northern soul songs about getting old/ageing? Any help greatly appreciated

How about Old Age by Louis Jordan on Tangerine.

Great record. Flip to What I Say.

It's more R&B than Northern Soul but it will at least give your thread a bump!!!

bill cosby- little ole man

The old grey matter cannot think at the moment  all I can think of is Jerry Jackson - "Time" on Kapp (dunno if would put it into Northern Soul genre).

Marva Lee - Old and Grey

Brilliant sound and relevant indeed!

Some good ones here, thanks folks. The hard bit will be choosing which one to go for. Keep 'em coming if you think of anymore.

"Time marches on", by Lainie Hill?

The Imperial Wonders "Just a dream" has a line in it that fits the bill:

"Me in bifocals, you'll have silvery hair"

Cheers
