dont have a problem with JACKIE WILSON being no. 1... met his daughter in L.A. about 8-9 years ago what a lovely woman she didnt realise what high esteem he was held in hear in the uk.....she was telling me how she thought / or new how he had kids all over the place ...seems MR.WILSON could not keep his trousers on...(allegedly)....where is ian hislop when you need him.......

as this will be my first weekender really looking forward to it...will be with the lads and lasses from leek and macc..have got a friend coming over from L.A.with his lady friend SHELIA for there first visit to the U.K. ...he was a soul dj on a radio station in L.A. in the sixties..he went under the name of HOLLYWOOD AL. (cant remember which station) we met him in L.A. on the first soul trip kev roberts ran,he loved it so much he also went to NEW JERSEY and CHICAGO soul trips ...so you can all meet one of the nicest guys on the planet at cleethorpes .. "after playing soul music on the radio for so many years i did not know this music existed "just one of the comments HOLLYWOOD AL said after a week of hearing northern soul so if you see AL just come over and say hello.....just look for JIM SMIRK and co. you will find AL.and SHELIA AS I SAY MY FIRST TRIP TO CLEETHORPES ...JUST WISH MY MATES GLENN HUNTER AND DAVE POINTON WHERE STILL HERE TO SEE IT ..will have drink and a dance for both them .......miss you both like mad ........
