  2. great idea Mike....travelling in these arctic conditions is difficult..so updates are essential
  3. there's LOADSA in ya face norvern sounds around...... Its a pity I can only 'shake my thang' to them now and not 'Move my thang anymore' :-(
  4. 500 dollars a side...good deal
  5. If I remember rightly , am sure there was a topic about these Capitol 'boots' stating they used the SAME paper 'type' as the originals for the label --making it even more difficult to spot at first glance
  6. Pretty much nailed it there...a simple answer to the the question really.... no need imo to disect any further . As for 'big tunes of the day'...well that's subjective and personal I reckon ..and thats never changed over time has it ?
  7. Again good luck with the project....if current technology allows it would be nice to know that it wouldn't rip expensive records to threads.....the 60/70's version was notoroius for damaging the records...
  8. As I remember they were all had logo of a Torch.....I also remember other promotional flyers that were 'gold' .....or that may be the newer membership cards...memory fails :-)
  9. i suspect this was the early promotional efforts for International Soul Club and its Top Rank events.......clenched fist and all... here is ISC flyer...
  10. https://www.somanyrecordssolittletime.com/?cat=1655 Reference made to the Kinks riff and also Spencer Davies....
  11. Dells or Artistics...take ya pick...close the thread lol
  12. Am sure there are a couple 'out there'.......can the offending owners step forward lol :-)
  13. Yes...few and far between those are methinks
  14. Then of course, the old chestnut....rare and UNKNOWN.....if its unknown..then how do you justify 300quid (insert number of your choice)...if its NEVER been sold before because its unknown....then maybe a bit more realistic pricing is needed :-)
  15. Devastating news........truly shocking. Top bloke was Gerry. Condolences to and thoughts are with Donna, family and friends. RIP Gerry
  16. Going for Jerry on this...one of those 'you just had to be there sounds'...for me anyway
  17. I'm probably in the minority, but I don't see that it adds much value to an event if a playlist is posted up. Personally I prefer to go and have a listen in 'real time' I know when we run an 'underplayed' session with other promoters we actively discourage playlists after the event(and all the DJ's agree) preferring the 'punter' to actually come out and sample the sounds for themselves, rather than wait till Monday and peruse through lists......the 'moment' has long gone !! As I say its just my point of view...... I suppose its a good marketing tool for DJ's to show their 'wares'...:-)
  18. You could well be right Patto.....it was more a stab in the dark my 70 quid figure, purely coz I aint seen it listed many times. Must say great tune though AND well worthy of spins out and about
  19. Dunno 70 quid ?....anyone ?
  20. Now that was an LP that was well sought after...A woolworths buy if I'm not mistaken. Listening to it at the time it was quite 'upfront' lol
