without checking I thought it was on three different labels, two of which were the same mix. but then again it could be the swine flu messing with my head.

one here: 7" Ray Jay & The Eastsiders Love Doll Demo US Cotique C-162 Ex £50 https://www.kingbeerecords.co.uk/kingbee_records_northen_soul.htm £50 sounds like the top end to me - this is the kind of 45 that you can usually get off Craig Moerer for circa $30

Face 1982 Article
Funnily enough, I have a copy of the first (or possibly the second) Kent LP that has photocopies of this article included as promotional bumpf from a record plugger - the LP sleeve and the photocopies have a sticker on with the pluggers details - when I get a chance I'll find it out and post their name up here.

Your Opinions Wanted
The Venetia Wilson is an Ian Levine creation, on top of a remix of the Peter Hamilton track.... I believe the youth of today call them Mash-Ups or some other such nonsense... Case Closed.

Ebay Bootleggers 84 Items Now
I've been in Beatin' Rhythm this afternoon to drop some fliers off and pick up a copy of the latest Brown & Koppell price guide (well I do enjoy a good belly laugh now and then, and this has ribsplitters on every page, however I digress...) and was astonished to see the amount of shite, ahem, "Reissues" available in there at a tenner a pop. If half of them are legitimate I'll eat my not-inconsiderably-sized hat.

Wanted
Hard on U.S. Hotline since most copies are single sided demos with the 'wrong' tune on both sides. Also came out on UK Action.

Charity Event Or For Profits
Totally agree Rob, it's very easy to say "we raised £xxx for Charity then pocket the lot", which is why Shane posts up a copy of the receipt from "Weston Park" after every event we do... We also ask DJs who are only willing to do the spot for free. blatent plug: 60s Soul @ The Redhouse - all proceeds to Weston Park Cancer Appeal. /forums/topic/107486-redhouse-sheffield/page__p__1164578__hl__redhouse__fromsearch__1entry1164578

Ebay......unknown Acetate
Just listened to it. Bloody hell, that's atrocious. Another minute of my life i'll never get back. Cracking write up though, particularly enjoyed this bit: IMPORTANT NOTE: This is a MEGA MEGA MEGA rare item and may well be the only copy of this song in existence. Your Northern Soul collection is not complete without obtaining this rare and historically significant holy grail... they just don't come rarer and more coveted than an original one-off one-sided unreleased 60s Northern Soul acetate in pristine condition...
