  3. My brother always used to say to me why didn’t you buy British release he has always been an avid British collector i preferred the US issues as the labels are generally nicer
  4. Hi Dave did al birkhead get one of the Earl Jackson’s have vague memory of him talking about it, used to knock about with al for quite a few years from 74 onwards
  5. Probably just cleaner than most copies if it’s a cheapie must have sold well so could be more than one pressing run so labels may differ
  6. There’s a few on discogs from a fiver Manship has it for 10 pounds so more than likely not a boot both him a Dave thorley have them worth checking with John but as it’s so cheap I wouldn’t have thought a need to bootleg

  8. my best bargain was Kenny smith - lord what's happening - GAR issue 10p from tape and disc exchange Stratford precinct which I took to the Arndale and sold to Rod (modersoulsucks) and Dave withers at the time thought to be demos only

  14. two well 3 times from age 12/13 at local youth clubs from 69/72 for just regular club soul and some ska/blue beat 72 till about 79/80 from 15 years old till 23ish attending dare and nighters and normal soul nights (Mecca) all over the country but petering out towards the end of 79 as I thought it was all over and friends were drifting away or getting married and having families. then started again in about 1994 attending and collecting again and running a soul night for almost 14 years.
  15. to be honest I don't know how Adrain and family have lasted this long without selling or developing site themselves, it is a very large site if you see it on a match day the amount of cars fitted onto the car park is staggering. and its a prime location for a developer.

  21. He was with David Rhodes when he recorded it don’t know how much input Ian had on the tune though
  22. I used to play this quite a lot at the greatstone soul club got plays in the 70’s but never made it big
  23. I usually use my friends father in law Neil mutter but can't get to see him during lockdown he ha s a shop in Manchester. been there for many years his father was a watchmaker also
