I reckon the first boot I bought was lady in red by ronnie Dyson on soul beat, think it had sister sledge on the flip side, got it at parr hall all-nighter in Warrington, I had tomangoes on washpan for years but for the life of me can’t remember where or when I got it, deffo a boot though……I hope

First comp I ever bought would have been Capitol soul casino, from record shop in Leigh, no sleeve note if I remember then loads of Kent comps after that, favourite one would be Essential Modern Soul with great sleeve notes from Kev Roberts, great tunes from Daybreak, Garfield Fleming, Charles Johnson , great album bought it off one of the bouncers at Bradford queens hall and still play it today

  13. For me, has to be pieces of a man by gil Scott heron, what an album, not one bad track on it and if I may, soul superman by the hesitations another album without a bad track 👍
