Whilst having a rare instrumental evening in the record room the other night I wondered who was the first dj to play (A good thing going) and where?? Very out there, subtle, with a tempo all over the place. Obviously, of its time. Jim.
  2. Jerry Butler, For your precious love.
  3. Always thought this was an interesting one. Can't find any evidence of a film per se but the 'soundtrack' exists. Possibly they were hoping for some revenue from the soundtrack to fund the film. Decidedly poor artwork couldn't have helped. Contains Delilah Moores "It takes love"
  4. Sad news. A legendary figure from my youth. RIP Jim.

I saw him several times over the years and each time it was a mesmerising experience. The last time was early 2009, promoting the 'Hidden conversations' LP at the Lowry in Manchester. Lovely guy. RIP TC
  12. That's a fantastic array of pictures. I remember that place prior to demolition, as I lived relatively close by. I had no idea it was a live music venue however.
  13. The only 'original' release in the Kent cd from 1997.
  14. I know Butch says it's "Chuck Jackson". Sounds like a New York recording to my ears. Echoes of Dean Parrish, Chuck and Tommy Hunt vocally. Absolutely wonderful, whoever it is. Shame I've called it a day, it sounds great down in that basement.
  15. "Last chance, final reduction, if it doesn't sell its going back in the box....." Yawn.
  16. Three particular favourites of mine Jean Carter I wanna know Chuck Jackson c/u I need you Darrell Banks Knocking... There's so many.
  17. Two going big at home at the moment. "Blind heart" from his Brunswick LP "I'll be there" from the '80 LP. but it changes every week.
  18. "Once you had a heart". An unreleased track he recorded for Motown, years later released on cd. Incredibly talented guy who never fulfilled his full potential.
