  1. really suprised to see the citations covered, my bro said it was around in the days of the golden torch as a known record.
  2. does the blurb include, 'probably THE most hammered oldie on the scene over the last 20 years'?
  3. eastpack evertime for me, not purpose built but they do the job nicely and are virtually indestructable, i've had mine for 15 years, use it daily, for general work use and its still going strong.
  4. will deffo try to see this movie, it looks so much more interesting than other movies i could mention, wonder how many baggy trousered bafoons will be at the opening night for this one? oh crap there'll be no linedancing or opportunites to make it onto a local news programme. It looks well written and directed too, it might even get mainstrean cinema release as well. Having said that I hope its better than 'Ray'!
  5. a load of stuff on the 2nd cd didnt get played at wigan, seems most of the first did. as ian said, Marvin Gaye? and was Sam Dees played at the cassino?
  6. Be interesting to know, (it there is indeed a scene) what style they will be the latest thing after the funky thang has run its course, 70's and 80's? soulful midtempo? any thoughts?
  7. If vic and Bob did northern soul it would sound like that determinations record, it really is shite, the harmonies are laughable, its actually peverse to think that people are seriously playing it. Really pleasd to get £150 trade for it 18 months ago.
  8. I cant seriously believe there wil be any scene to speak of in ten years.
  9. your right we wouldnt want the wider word to suffer that shite.
  10. the MGee's wouldnt get a look in if it was a £20 tune, bloody awful imho
  11. seriously! god that would be hard to dance to, the guy cant sing shit and the song aint all that!
  12. Both are over exposed for sure, to say flemmons is hammered is like saying oscar petorius is mentally ill. But both would give any aspiring dj the ability to fill a floor at 'bog standard soul night inc'. The perfectly obvious option to open a set, after mumbling something into the mike about the Swadlingcote crew loving it.
  13. yes and they probably number arounf 10- 20% of the amount of collectors in there 50's, 60's and 70's.
  14. Not issued on vinyl, surely someone has the reels? the CD's must have been cut from tapes. therefore the only credible way to play this would be from the master tapes.
  15. if its anything like the crock of crap they made about disco, god help us. I'm talking about the last documentary bbc4 put out about disco. why is it? if it was a documentary about ELO or Fleetwood mac it would be spot on, but we'll probably get Dustbin and Levine talking the same old bollox!
  16. few shiop owners have said to me its the bog standard rock and pop stuff thats selling!
  17. no I love him mate, just couldnt help getting it in there, lol

  22. I asked a house dj mate of mine why he'd never gone digital, and he said all of our generation, that grew up playing vinyl, dj'd visually, 'its the the third mix on that green one', or its the one with the lion on the cover'. I have so many house tunes I can only remember in that way, ask me the title and I've had it, but I could take your to where it is in the box everytime. Soul and funk wise I'm better but the label always comes first with me, 'its on.....' then the artist and ttile is stuck further away in the vaults of my mind.
  23. black lines, now sold.
