  7. First 12" single I ever bought was Archie Bell "Everybody Have A Good Time" 1976 on the label so id guess 75/76. could be the start of a new topic.
  8. I remember early/mid 70s going to Northampton cricket club disco and they always finished with "Aint No Sunshine" Grover Washington jr which seemed a strange choice but went down very well!
  9. Has no one mentioned Bob and Earl yet? Both as a duo and individually, performing writing and producing classic northern. How many of us got into the scene hearing "Harlem Shuffle" at the youth club disco?

  16. Bobby Womack spoke on many of his records . My choice would be "Harry Hippie"
  17. Williams and Watson...".Too Late". Brilliant!
  18. Lisa Tarbuck used to play some northern soul when she presented on radio 2 a couple of years back.
  19. just played mine and it does sound very much like Jerry Williams. Ive had this record for over 40 years and never noticed before! Thanks for the info.
  20. Little Anthony breaks the £300 Barrier!
  21. Saw them last night at the Stables Milton Keynes. They were excellent ,so much energy and enthusiasm. Vocalists and backing band. Highlights for me were "When something is wrong with my baby" " Ive been loving you too long" and the young girl belting out "Gee Whiz" Things like this will make sure the music from that era will live on. Good to see so many young people in the audience.
  22. Spellbinders seems a tad expensive!
