Track 4 reminds me of stuff done by Dirty Dozen Brass Band but a lot of their songs sounds the same, check a few out on Youtube.
  2. 8.https://www.zshare.net/audio/87581105224b2022/ - Barbara Acklins "Is it me" on Brunswick records from around 1969/70.
  3. The Jerry Plunk track came out on a Solid Hitbound CD maybe ten years ago as Eddie Anderson. I also have an mp3 of it credited to Joey Kingfish. Just downloaded the mp3 on here and don't see any difference in the 3 of them. Was it once an un-credited acetate that they now know who it actually is ?.
  4. The second one is Marvins version as it opens with the lyrics you mention. G.C Camerons uses different opening lyrics even though they are the same song.

You can get this on the "Get up and get down" UK Philips album. Includes Aaron Neville, Brothers Guiding Light, Annette Snell, Dramatics and more. It'd be hard to find an original 70's compilation better than this. Shouldn't cost much either. https://snapcrackleandpops.blogspot.com/2009/11/get-up-and-get-down-various-artists.html
  6. This came out 3 or 4 times on Lamp, different colour labels and distributers. Lamp 86 with this on is their rarest record, in my opinion much rarer than "Good times bad times".
  7. https://www.tcm.com/m....jsp?cid=281748 It's in this clip from the movie, either Dramatics or John Gary Williams and Newcomers.

  9. Been waiting for this one, a favourite of mine. Put one away for me.
  10. Dave, if i didn't already know it i would of thought it was female too. I know it got a 45 release but i know it from the "Everlasting Love" album.
  11. It was written by P Kelly (Paul ?)
  12. Is it female, sounds the same as Carl Carlton song to me. Maybe a different mix.
  13. A different and better mix than the US Moonglow release.
  14. Tony, i think Millbrand has the publishing rights to the Mike Terry and Jo Armstead songs on this album. Not sure about the master, i'll ask Paul about it. Nice to see Wilxy found a copy. It's a great album.
  15. I read a good article about this song and i've just had a search around to find it again. Interesting story of how it was concieved plus Ava was owned by a well known celeb. Got plenty of plays in the mid 80's. https://www.spectropop.com/HOTB/HOTBpart1.htm
  16. I've found out where i heard it. It's on a friends blog, Alex from Spain. There's some great music on his site. Alex is on here if you need any info about it. https://www.flickr.com/photos/alexs4r/3438422450/
  17. Try this, got an mp3 of it but can't post on here. From a workout album, think it's been discussed on here before. Not mostly intrumental but fits in with what you're saying.

  21. Love it, both sides are brilliant. Got to hear both sides on one of the test pressings and they sound incredible. Hope you do well with this and the Sam Dees release, two soul music legends.
  22. I thought mine was a demo but doesn't say it anywhere on the label. Just different pressing plants i would of thought and don't think there would be a difference in price. Another label variation
