Manship turned it up in 91…..always been a bit of a sleeper.
  6. John, yes 4th October 1977. Check a few others they follow the same pattern.
  7. He friended me on FB, and I saw his video where he had this "hit" record in England apparantly. I had the same thing when I first tracked down Lou Pride "I had a top 10 hit in England and I never saw a penny from it" were just about the first words he said to me. Why do people say these things to these guys? Anyway I wish Ishola the best with his new work and hope lots of people sponsor him.
  8. A lot of the numbering was related to the date of the issue of the actual record

  10. This was very unfortunate. The Chinese NS dancing team were denied admission to the country at Heathrow because they didn't have the correct visas. The Russians fielded an ineligible dancer and the team was disqualified. The Australians failed a drug test. The Irish NS dancing teams ferry was 4 hours late because three of the four engines on the fast ferry weren't working. The Americans tour guide sent them to Blackrood rather than Blackpool. There was engineering works on the WCML that weekend which meant that the Europeans missed the event, finally arriving at Blackpool on Sunday evening after a 14 hour train journey via Newcastle and Edinburgh. So the "Brits" ended up having a clean sweep in the competition. Welcome to Britain, better luck next time other nations
  11. Forget the Dad dancing, who remixed FW then? All those strings….. :-(
  12. Def NOT a photoshop.....£8 and it's yours! There are a range of them "Do I love you", "A way of life", "Up all night" etc. Google will bring them all up for you.
  13. What the hell is happening? It all happened years ago. You might say it's all a load of..... But when you have this little gem of a CD to play maybe not The whole thing is so commercialized it's not surpsing in the slightest that people are offering dance lessons....they are just the tip of an iceberg of what's been going on....let 'em get on with it if thats what ppl want to do. Whenever any civilian friends mention "northern soul" to me, I just tell em "nah that's not what I am into at all". I then mention "Rare soul".... they look puzzled and walk away quickly

I think my copy was Rob's at one point via Greety...who I bought it from....
  15. It says Danny Leake on the acetate….
  16. F*ck etiquette If Ppl are saying it's a great record, there has to be room for an observation that someone else doesn't happen to like it.....seems like I am not quite alone either Nev. Anyway it's sold now, nothing to see here.....
  17. Can confirm only 3 acetates originally in the 70s - I have one of em. The rest all pressed up in the 90s - we had a massive "hoolie" about it all at the time denials, allegations etc......let's not go there again purleez. Damont pressing plant here in the UK though was used and I remember Mark Houghton, a collector as honest as the day is long, finding a copy in Record & Tape Exchange shortly afterwards for £1.......All kicked into the long grass now.
  18. So I do believe Richard sold it to Colin D. Colin D let Sam cut a copy of it, that's how Sam has it....on a 7" done up to look like a Prelude demo.....whereas the original was an acetate LP that JA found in the US. I think the original is back with Richard now. I tried to prize it out of him a couple of years back, not a cat in hells chance.
  19. Funny but cf takes an age to load on my apple…..no probs at all with popsike….
  20. Yet another page for reposting every well known northern tune off of youtube It will keep some people busy for the next 3 months...
  21. I am the ONLY person that doesn't like this one at all
