  1. Great thread!!! I think everyone has had some mad experiences....a couple that spring to mind (won't mention where and dj,s) #1 the line up on the decks was superb and expecting plenty of rare records played...turned into a Motown night for the !ocals...there is playing to the f!oor.... but it was advertised as a northern do with top dj,s playing....#2 arrived at a working men's club, lots of windows boarded up and my mate who was driving his 60k company car crapping himself!!!...bucket catching the water from the leak in the roof as you walked through the door...was a great night!!....Keith Money was playing his brilliant mid tempo records...cheap beer, friendly but a tad scary with the locals....just as it should be!!!...thank you...Rob P.s didn't mention dj,s from the 1st event I mentioned.

  6. Brilliant and fascinating....thank you....Rob
  7. As soon as there is a recession, (which there is, will be) people invest in physical things....gold, cars, watches, rare records...generally as soon as the economy settles prices settle.....the exception seems to be rare bloody soul records.....Rob
  8. Tangeers WOW!!! I thought they go for about £650 I'm a bit out of date but fair play if your willing to pay that much....bloody good though!! Thank you for posting...great job you do....Rob
  9. Interesting stuff Steve... Who were the dj,s?? Good records??......Rob
  10. I'm sort of thinking that maybe...people buy and pay these prices from places where they don't have the abundance of soul do,s and massive access to records that we have?? If as Dobber says Japan for instance, the logistics of getting expensive vinyl over there would be/is a nightmare. They know Manships is established and reliable so pay the prices...just a thought....thank you...Rob
  11. I used it the same, neat on a clean micro fibre then buffed with another clean micro fibre, in a clock wise direction (although anti clockwise also fine).....Rob
  12. Was a good night Seano for sure.....also you can't beat ordering yourself a beer for the interval!! Reckon there was a "once upon a time in wigan" soul do in Coventry???...Thank you....Rob

  19. A good fun thread, nice one Lee!!! Can remember being at a do and "dance, dance dance" came on...was just about to turn to my mate and say this is sh1t and he was off bustin some moves on the dance floor!!!!....as I say one man's mead is another man's poison...will be some good replies to this I reckon....Rob
  20. T They all have there place mate that's for sure....it's all personal taste I suppose...I just know if it was played to me as my first example of northern soul music, I wouldn't listen to a second example....Rob
  21. Tim tam and the turn ons -wait a minute would of certainly put me off....Thank you....Rob
