I've reviewed Nuneaton niter man it were jumping . Since we have been let out to play again , being from Nottingham I've been out locally to , Festival at Trowell, Basford miners (creepers) , Underwood miners , near J 21 M 1 , Soldier's & Sailors, Long Eaton , & Swinton traveled up with young Sam Moore, everywhere everyone's been up for it ! Can't wait for this weekend , now then where shall I go ? -
Wow hot or what ? Thats got to be up there with the best niters ever held at Nuneaton co op ? Gonna live in my memory for a long time DJ's delivered , dancers responded , incredible, I'm knackered, thank you.

Got a full on day, my footy team to watch & a soul night to call in on , I'll be there about 11ish please let me in ! I have been attending since you started as a soul night ! Many thanks to you Mark & all your supporting acts down the years , Mark always says bring a clean top , one's no good I normally get through three ! As the man says see you at the go go , & as Frank Elson used to say back in the day keep the friendship!

Personally i regard northern soul as a retro scene , a hip happening scene it ain't, stopped being that decades ago surely, just a way of having a laugh, I'm in my 65th year & I'm lucky enought to be fit & when I go out I celebrate that fact . Rare/deep soul now that's a different matter , Doris Duke 'I don't care anymore ' boy oh boy anyone that's ever had their heart broken try & keep it together whilst listening to that !

Ktf means to me a protection of civil rights . I remember being shocked & moved to drop a few tears when Martin Luther king jnr was assassinated , I was appalled at Muhammad Ally's treatment , & disgusted at appartide. I didn't understand what John Carlos & Tommie Smith were doing at Mexico. But when I started reading blues & soul circa 71 & Dave Godin's column then the penny dropped, the clenched fist , keep the faith , keep on keeping on ,right on brothers & sisters, this was a message to soul artists , we love your music, your soul reachers our soul , carry on your struggle for equality. AND WE WILL KEEP THE FAITH FOREVER .

I've just retired too, had enough of this rat race. No way can I afford to buy rare soul soul 45's . I'm amazed at the prices people are prepared to pay for none essential items in these troubled times. I do pick up the odd original 60/ 70's Lp , but with record shops & fairs shut not so often. Bought 2 off Roger Banks recently , but even these are going up in price beyond my reach, finally acquired Dave Godin's deep soul treasures vol. 4& 5 , oh that 'Detroit my home town' from Rob Moss record compilation, regards to all hope to see yous out about in the near future , Martin.

Hi mate that version is on a Kent cd from 1996 called CHESS CLUB RHYTHM & SOUL so it could be one of those tracks recovered from master tapes? Not sure if it was issued on 7inch vinyl .

Thanks to Trev & the team for a great nite , Mick J did his job as resident ,set the standard for guests to follow, nice to see Kev in form & not lost his sense of humour, & adding some gritty r&b tunes to his set, take another bow Avril you were awesome, great set of tunes played from the heart, not from a fat wallet , you keep on keeping on.
