  1. I'm currently in posession (on an approval basis) of a Clifford Binns acetate, which I'd appreciate some help with please! It's in 7" format and is of metallic/lacquer basis with a single white label consisting of a hand written title and artist detail (Clifford Binns-Who told you) whilst the flip side (the better of the two) albeit unlabelled contains the main hook line "I'm human too?? It sounds early sixties, but would be interested if anyone could supply any more information whatsoever on the item... which will be most gratefully recieved! Thanx in advance....wilxy
  2. I have to speak as I find, and whilst I've" been involved for a very long time", and have engaged in most of the "sub genres" of our beloved scene, and still respect most... and still collect aforementioned vinyl in particular with regard to such....find my interest once more in wishing to hear particularly the sounds of the sixties that have remained elusive/rarely heard ....in my world anyway! Burnley albeit a long round trip remains my choice niter, but must admit I require so much recovery time, from ANY niter nowadays....... However I must say from a Soul night perspective, my venue of choice whilst still distant Is SHS in Shoreditch,London and must add, that whilst Soul nights may sometimes be put down for whateve......, on a personal note....this nite keeps me looking forward to the next.....And that's what's important to me Sorry Lou to diversify, but whereas the scene started out as a "BIG all of us"....Nowadays it's a "smaller some of us".....and seemingly each to his/her own perhaps? Best wilxy
  3. Fair do's to you Ady, what a class find ! Total respect for your endeavours in making ones hair on back of neck still react on a musical nature, as they did in "days of yore".....so to speak.....And moreover (perhaps from a Detroit collectors perspective) Awesome
  4. Yes, fair play it looks the business!
  5. Very Sad news, RIP Sir.....
  6. I'm quite sure, that I have that title you've scanned Richard but it's actually credited to Kay-zia, and also has the Pittsburgh address stuck on it
  7. Is this label the same as the reputed Detroit tag , but allegedly produced elsewhere????
  8. I wouldn't mind any of the legit ones
  9. I totally agree with Terry's take on this topic, and furthermore whilst I have no gripe with any "sub-genre" as such, whilst I'm game to new on the ears, I get bored with one hour sets of Funk, Latin or Popcorn, etc, the odd item sounds great.....but I like what I like, as does each and every participant I suppose
  10. TBH you and your young compatriots are the ones who will ensure longevity of a pretty unique "scene", no two ways about it
  11. PM'd you Phil.
  12. IMHO the finest example of blue eyed soul is Those Lonely nights by the Soul Communicaters on Fee Bee, with Chuck Corby as lead singer.....Stunning record, and oh so Soulful
  13. I've always thought of Dancing as personal rather than exhibitional ......(moreover because I'm below average at best ) However during my best efforts over the years, there are many tunes that have drawn me to the floor and filled my soul with a natural high, infact too many to mention.....Nowadays I tend to throw a few more shapes indoors, rather than when out, due to becoming more of a chinstroker and my liking for viewing vinyl ....I still get the hairs on the back of the neck standing up, when treading the carpet in front of my record deck however, and today during my weekly Detroit foray found myself going mental to Mikki Farrow-Set my heart at ease, amongst several other Pied Piper masterpieces and their ilk.....
  14. RIP Sir...
  15. I can't honestly say I've heard either side before, but I must say, was very impressed with both, and will be actively searching for a copy......
  16. Al Kent-The way you've been acting lately,Ric-Tic
  17. Coincidentally, was listening to a few 45's on headphones this afternoon to save over indulging neighbours, and I can assure you, Levi Stubbs will always be the Dogz, Gone yet still Immortal .....sorry to diversify....just becomes almost personal on headphones...".do what you gotta do"

FFS, and there was me thinkin' it was two of the DJ's
  19. Can only concur with Kev's initial statement, since first purchasing the Kent (Ady's)" Detroit Dancers"(compilations), I've obtained many of the vinyl pieces obviously that are actually available, and have become "hooked" on most of Dave Hamiltons associated "output", and having recently added his Latest Detroit Soul compilation for my pleasure, sought out a couple more "shiny silver" items on Ace which are whilst yet unplayed, are the Detroit City Groove, and Detroit Funk compilations, and I'm quite certain one of the motorway systems will be sharing some soundbites of the Great mans genius in due course Respect to Ady in particular for the opportunity of gleaning eartime
