  1. I've always had a theory on this one. If you look at the credits on the "Flash" release the writers are D Cay and B McGregor on the "Flash Records" release the writers are credited as D Clay and B McGregor, so I think that they were pulled due to the credit error. Andy, theres an altenative flip of She's a Yum Yum (6603) / Fall On My Knees (6601), not seen Mr Shy with an alt flip, not saying that there isn't one though.
  2. Like many others I have some “expensive” records that I don’t want damaged. So when DJing, would it be acceptable to display the record on something like this. And then play the tune from a CD/mp3?
  3. It's used to describe records released in small runs by individuals as opposed to records released by record labels.
  4. It costs about £500 to get a Rolex serviced and they recommend you get it done every 5/7 years.
  5. I wish they'd stick to previously unreleased stuff as I have no interest in retrospective single releases of LP tracks.
  6. Just before the mid 70s was around the time Motown & Wishbone linked up, which produced the likes of the Terry Woodford related Ruben Howell, Bottom and Co, Commodors and Supremes releases
  7. For me, record store day has lost its appeal. I’m really only interested in new or previously unreleased stuff and don't see the point of putting out; compilation LP’s, previously released singles or LP’s in different coloured vinyl, just for the sake of record store day.
  8. So, its a bootleg then.
  9. Whats wrong with giving support to people who support the music? I don't think any of these re-issues will have any true effect on "collecting" as I believe it generally won't affect people who collect originals releases in the long-term, although it may make the price of originals dip for a bit. I think it will mainly affect "the DJ's" more, as another semi-elusive disc is made available for the masses to DJ with. Surely it should then make DJ's dig deeper into their collections for other still illusive (but also good musically) discs to support?
  10. I think its also known as smuggling.
  11. I've got a few records with this design. It's a striking picture, so I understand the appeal and wonder who owns the copyright and how did these labels find the image.
  12. Its not your fault if its damaged in transit, so if you paid via paypal or a Visa, you put in a claim for $75 + postal costs to the sender. Its then the senders responsibility to them claim the value of the damaged goods back from the postal service, which is why some sellers don't like putting a low value on the docket, as this is the amount they can claim if something goes wrong.
  13. Wasn’t this an unreleased track Richard Searling used to play off an acetate? Anyhow, it got released on an Outta Sight single backed with I’m The One Who Loves You in 2010 and I think its also included in his Lost Soul CD Goldmine put out in the late 90’s
  14. I only bought one record from the States in the “olden days”. I used my work phone to call the US to see if the record was available as I didn’t want to have and international call on my Mum & Dad’s phone bill. Went to the bank for an international money order and posted it off. Waited weeks and weeks for the record to arrive. I do think it should be a site policy that it's mandatory for sellers include any fees charged in the unit price of items being sold, that way its 100% clear what's to be paid.
  15. Think this was pressed up by Ted Jarrett himself. Dave Halsall might know more info on this as he was in touch with him at the time
  16. It was a way to identify cut-out records, these would be sent back to the distributers and then sold off at a discount.
  17. Some of my favourite Modern tunes of the last few years Kathy D. Horry - Forgiveness Al Johnson - It’s Been Too Long Mighty Sam McLain - Use Me Ursula Ricks - Sweet Tenderness Sulpacio Jones - Your Eyes Stony Murphy - Making The Best Of It Dion Hawkins - Having U Around Raymond Coates Snr - Special Love For Me Leroy Allen - God’s Gift To A Woman Floyd Taylor - Get Back To Lovin Again Calvin Richardson - Home In A Minute
  18. The Patterson Twins started Kon-Kord and they re-released some Marvin Holmes Brown Door stuff in the early 90's (I think) and this release must have been part of the package
  19. Mal bought 3 spare Randy Brown LPs I put up for sale a year or so ago
  20. They're both the same. The UK release of WTMR has always been the toughest of his LP releases
  21. Just had a dig and yes you're correct its in a plain CBS sleeve, but the other Jackson Sisters on US Mums I've got are in US Mums sleeves.
  22. My UK Mums single sits nicely in UK Mums sleeve as well
  23. That only works with Fixed Assets. I would expect that records/CD's would be classed as Inventory Assets as they will have a "cash value" (can be sold within a year, for however large or small it may be). From an accounting perspective they'd probably classified something like "available for sale", so wouldn’t have depreciation amortization overlay applied to them.
  24. Also got a 7" release on Urban as well
  25. Looking at the Natural Four discography on Soulful Kinda Music, it has the following releases: Curtom 1981 - Things Will Be Better Tomorrow / Eddie You Should Know Better Curtom 1984 - Eddie You Should Know Better / Try Love Again Does anyone have these in their collection, as I'm have a tough time finding them. I've got a S/S demo of Eddie You Should Know Better on release 1984. Hope you guys can help
