  2. bump still plenty of good stuff here.
  3. i'm through with you just about shuiffles along at x-over pace. A brilliant double sider and well worth a mention. His best record ? my contribution for this thread and my best buy in 2010 has to be ray quarles "its gonna be all over" faces and david dee on time about that got some time in the spotlight as a semi known 60s. Proper northern IMO.
  4. i've never seen a background that hideous it sent my eyes funny
  5. the tiny watkins is sold.

  7. can get the ball rolling with marilyn barbarin. Thats the only 1 I know......
  8. not sure ? there is a legitimate recent eissue with another of their in demand sides on the flip side. At lease I think its a legitimate reissue ? the OG has a small virtue stamp in run out.
  9. my favourite new discovery to me in 2010 has to be the brilliant x-over by ray quarles "its gonna be all over" I had an ebay copy saved and continually listened to the short clip for the 5 or 6 days the acution was running and was hoping to win that copy. in the end I got significatntly outbid but was ale to locate another copy and when it finally arrived it sounds absolutely fantastic. Evene better than the clip suggested. all time records to me are things like fred briggs "sound off" that has never left my all time top 5. But after hearing somethign this good it makes me far more critical of the not quite and nearly records.
  10. not sure on the issue v demo question. fist time he listed it i'm sure he made some comment about it being a 50s record which was odd. First time mround my offer to him to end the auction early must of been a touch to low
  11. that bob and gene used to be a tricky 100 quid record and isn't actually all that good to be honest. 800 for it is just plain madness. the martiniques auction was odd it was on ebay then off then back on again. Not sure what went wrong the first time.
  12. i've seen quite a few very well priced records on tims list in 2010. 3 of the top of my head : this discussed here, ray frazier on chess and ralph soulo jackson on sob.
  13. unless there are some very special sentimental reasons I think this would be nearly impossible. My favourite record changes every week. and some of my all time favourotes i've heard them so many times I don't realy mind not hearing them all that much any more.
  14. nobody has dared say they don't like her voice on this thread. I better keep my opinions to myself......
  15. I actually prefer dan brantleys own version of this track in the scan but "I can't lie to my heart" is brilliant
  16. I was going to say its issue only then I read this. sure mine is an issue..
  17. and if 2 people are selling this record I would love a copy as well. just missed the one of shiftys last list

    bernard sounds white to me......

it was a reluctant sale but i've always found if you need the cash very fast sell something good and in demand. And at the time there were copies around at the time so I thought i'd just get another as required.............. I certainly wouldn't put in in my top 10 though.
  20. seb posted another usefull search up a few days ago. Type the record you are interested in into ebay and click completed items. It shows prices of all recent sales. probably only a pretty short time frame available though.

there was a little spell where there were a good few of these available buyt they all seem to be gone now and it hardly ever gets listed. Can't remember last time i saw one for sale. I had this a like an idiot sold it for about 500 quid when I needed some fast cash..... to be hoinest i'd say 500 would still be about right now as prices seem to have come down a bit compared to 3 or 4 years ago. a small qty of the batch were very slightly warped NAP.
  22. I started a very similar thread myself lately. I've had a few packages taking over 3 weeks to get from US to UK. the post does seem slow just lately and we are possibly about to go into our 2nd spell of bad weather so thingsa might get slow again i'm just waiting one record now that was posted from japan on 2/12 which is a bit longer than it would usually take,
  23. i've had occasions where i've had to ask quickly if something is available then either head out to work or leave the hosue for a few hours. 4 hours realy isn't that long to be honest. I usually allow 24 hours for a response if i'm selling or set a reasonable deadline saying if you don't get back to me before x i'll sell to next interested party.
  24. thanks dave thats great. I've only scratched the surface..... loads more there to listen out for.
  25. I've picked up some great low budget dep soul on the anla label. has anybody compiled a discography would be great to see how many more there are...... I think I have about 7 ish on the label now and not a bad one yet.
