Friday and Saturday nights were superb but the Saturday and most of Sunday afternoon sessions were in our humble opinion nothing short of diabolical, no continuity, no playing to the crowd, none of that unique Skeggy atmosphere, with the DJ's announcing a no request policy??? . Sunday evening catered only for new soul. We totally get that for this wonderful genre to survive the young must carry that torch, and that is a fantastic thing, but surely it's not too much to ask for those older and loyal Skeggy soulies to expect to hear some established sounds. if only for an hour during the afternoon. Firstly I would like to thank Dave & Donna, Mick & Nettie for all your hard work with putting this event together, you don't stop! After a few hours sleep Dave was in the shop brewing up and selling records whilst Mick was greeting everybody back at The Grosvenor sporting a bright yellow vest, baggy trousers the works, for a moment we thought we were at...well you know where! It was hilarious. A very friendly and knowledgeable crowd, it was lovely to catch up with friends and also be introduced to many new ones. The music was superb, the venue was stunning. It was just an all round brilliant weekend! A big thanks to Dave and Mick for giving us young'uns a chance. It was my first go at a main room all niter but not only that was given a large timeslot in the legendary vault to play alongside the other 'young generators' which some people may see as a bit risky at such a well established event but I think we all did a great job. I hope we did you proud. My facebook hasn't stopped since we left with notifications from pictures, comments, playlists, quotes, all positive things from such a great weekend. Roll on next year! Thanks to everybody, and thanks for those that took the time to come and listen to what us young'uns had to offer. Its appreciated! See you all soon Mike Taylor :-) Link to review
