Costas
What is Voodoo R&B? R&B from New Orleans? I think that there is no typical rule or no specific region for that ! Reg Scott
I would have thought Voodoo R&B refers to records made or influenced by New Orleans or Mississipi Delta tunage.. And that perhaps the term R&B is meant to refer to early R&B, Soul & Funk from this perspective.. If not I wouldn't know what the frig else it might mean - surely not simply naming tunes with Voodoo or related terms for a title or artist.. Over to the original poster.. ImberBoy
Just listening to Billy Preston - Volcano I like it, the bongo's seam be the only musical accompaniment with a female backing that I like a lot. The sax makes a welcome appearance and the track changes slightly and a piano can be heard to drive it along a little although the tempo doesn't increase. It's very pleasant to the ear and I'll deffo be listening to it again. I should imagine that if the percussion was dropped and replaced by a more Detroit feel then this would become an instant stomping sound, but that kinda isn't the point is it. The track oozes sex appeal but I'm not too sure if I could dance to it? Cracking track! More please Link to comment Social source share

Lavern Baker Vooodoo Voodoo and Charles Sheffield are the obvious one's , but i am sure there are many more out there. Actually I heard a great Tommy Ridgley played the other month played by FrancisT can anyone throw any light on this tune for me please ? can't think of the title something about loving you more today than yesterday maybe ? New Orleans soul R&B Going off at a tangent now anyone remember the witch queen of new orleans .. I used to love that chart topper as a kid.
