seen one in a sales box in the last 12 months, a gut reacion guess would be £2k ish, but lord knows at the moment.

looks in good nick too, sellers got a reserve on.

Tearra sold for 8 ton, the Jackie Day didn't sell.

i've seen quite a lot of jackie days in recenmt years ? its still no doubt quite rare but its by no means an impossible record to find. Having said that it will still sell for a lot of money when it comes up.

I don't understand sellers that are so stupid that they put high reserves or starts and keep listing rare items over and over and over again. Like the value is going to go up every new week it's on ebay. I just makes rare records look not rare.

I've been noticing the opposite effect, at least with the more unknown stuff. It's like they are "setting a price", and other auctions are getting closer to what these guys are asking. Damn annoying -- as a buyer that is.

there is no rule about posting live ebay actions even though some don't like it but what you posted as Bob said there is nothing out of the ordinary about them (though Hal Miller was about a ton on lists anyway, not sure what AOB fetches these days).

AOB about a ton +, just a nice clean collectable example of Chicago soul I thought.

To be honest Chalky, the Hal Miller is a nice record in it's own right, but I was thinking about Blessing In Disguise & getting mixed up & that's much more collectable....I think.

This caused more than a little conflict in the past.

People complained about SS being swamped with people bumping their sales. Others were upset because they thought they were the only ones who had seen a record wrongly catogorised, and still at 99p. Others just wanted to undercut sales. Its a minefield.

Ahhh right, that makes sense Mikey, didn't look at that way.

Thing is sometime you see some crackers & want to share them, of course not if your bidding on them.

Just post the odd outstanding one is best policy I suppose then like maybe a Nolan Chance on Bunky or dare I say it.....Jackie Day...doh .

There is a place for such discussions, it is called Look At Your Box. Unusual,obscure and rare, big ticket items are often discussed and others that fetch a daft price are discussed as well.

Some think the best place for "live auctions" is ebay itself but there is no rule about posting of live auctions on this site regardless what some might say.

But at the end of the day if going to post about an auction it has "in my opinion" got to be interesting and not posting run of the mill records with nothing out of the ordinary in the auction for the sake of it.

Fair doos Chalky, that's what I'll do in future.

You shouldn't keep brag about what you've got cause there's always someone better with better round the corner, and does having expensive originals make you better than others? Not in my book, I'd sooner see a collection thats taken imagination not a cheque book.
