Did anyone ever offer you one of these, Steve - 'cos I'm after it now, since I heard the other side on the mostly awful "Capitol City Soul" CD!

If anyone's got one they can flog me, I'll sweeten the deal by throwing in a CDR of an unissued All Platinum version of the other side "Every Little Thing Will Be Fine", by Lezli Valentine.

Hopefully I'll have better luck than Steve seems to have done!

Now I've finally convinced Sammy boy of the merits of this record, and he has finally picked up on the B side of this, expect to pay a small kings ransom. The other side is good, but "Come back to me" was always the side for me.

Apart from the Young Ladies on Stang, I also rate Jakki on Vibration as a pretty damn fine number from this set of labels.

So, there I was searching the internet last night trying to find out anything about George Wilson, and I come across this thread.

Why was I looking for George Wilson? Well, I had this very record sitting in front of me at the time (along with other soul records).

Are you still looking for this Steve or Tony? If so, you can email me through the forums.

I received a number of inquiries over my record...I'm trying to figure out what is best.

I'm considering an eBay auction, or a one time blind bid for each person here interested, highest bid gets the record.

Yes I managed to prise it from a certain Mr Barnfather earlier in the year at the cost of a certain body part!

I was gutted to see it on a list for £40 a month or so ago.................my one remaining testicle jumped back into my body after reading that ..............it had of course gone!

Does anyone have a clip of the Young Ladies please?

As one of you pointed out, it was rather rude of me to not respond to any messages.

I was hoping that most of you who messaged me would agree to the eBay idea...but only one person ever said they'd go for that idea.

For me and you, it would have meant a more secure transaction, what I was going for with that idea. I've been on eBay since 1997 with a rating made up of entirely positive and neutral comments. It would show that I'm on the up and up.

Let's find this record a good home in the next week. I listened to it, and it does not skip. It has a few minor marks on the vinyl, and the label has a very slight ring on it, but does not go all the way around. The reverse side looks great.

Hope that is a good description for you.

I've accepted an offer for my copy of this record.

Thank you to all for your patience and your generous offers. I had no understanding of the value of this record, unlisted in any publication I could find.

If I come across another copy (don't hold your breath!) I will be sure to let everyone know.

Oh, I know that they don't have to be fast, but they have to be good. Bobby Hill's "I Wanna Be With You" (which I for example is listening to right now) is wonderful, that George Wilson tune is however not. In my opinion ofcourse etc. etc. It's good that we all don't like the same tunes.

This is an incredible record, one of the best things I've heard in ages!

I like this a lot and had a go at upgrading my scratchy copy here but somebody must have made a better offer

I think the singer sounds pretty good. Heard this at Yarmouth 07 after owning it a couple of years and it sounded great over a club system. Was playing pool on the sloping table at the time.

btw I personally love 'Come back to me' (particularly the last half of the record as it builds and builds) BUT it ain't a patch on his Black Circle 45 which has to be one of the best records EVER!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! At a 20th of the price of the Stang 45 too!!!!

Is anyone out there familiar with the unreleased Georgie Wilson track "If I Loved You"? I'm pretty certain it's the same guy: a mid sixties recording this time and pretty worthwhile. I really like the Stang track but concur that it's not as good as his Black Circle 45, one of the great cheap discs.

The reality is they're both very good records, and ripe for different moods. So I am not going to get drawn on which one is better than the other. When I originally got the Stang side it was for the slower side "Come back to me". Dean Johnson exactly the same. Sometime later I played it to Sam and he preferred the B side and said that he couldn't use the slower side; anyway he then went and tracked down a copy.....anyway glad you (and Tony) both have it.
