The LP on Bunky / London is well worth picking up - it's the kind of LP you can stick on the deck and play both sides without skipping any.

Agree 100%

Fantastic group and I for one think their Dancing A Whole In The World is better than Jimmy Delphs. Love the backing singers on it.

Me too!

Great Record.

Agree 100%

I like the other side of this record better though ("that ain't no reason"). This group released a LOT of records and only a few are weak. They were so great. One of my favorite "chicago" records of all time is Girls in the City. That record is so good and so chicago 1970 sounding. Here it is if you don't know it:

Just 4 from me.

I bought Dancing a hole in world as a new release on a visit to Contempo.

Get on up I bought from Burnley record exchange circa 1967 when all you did was ask for what you wanted and they got picked from the shelves,(happy days).

atb, Geoff.

"How could it be"....maybe a bit obvious, but I love it

me too... and IMHO its not played out enuff!.....lovin 'you say' too again at the moment

Gotta agree "How Can It Be" is real nice.

But surprised nobodies yet mentioned their little beauty from 1972-3 ish "My Sweet Baby".

Came out over here on UK Action 4618 (grey) which seemed to pop up alot more than its stateside release on Hotline 103.

Seem to think it's the blue issue you need as the white demos have the flip "Henry Ralph" double sided.

The issue always used to be a solid £40er.

How good is this....

derek

Lovely Derek I have it on British , one of the records I bought off Brian when we parted a few years back at 50 bloody quid , but since that I have become a great fan of the Esquires , love their version of "Woman" and I do currently like to play State Fair , which I believe has a cracking flip side ( Thanks Terry Fin ) which I still have not played. Along with You got the Power ... cheap as chips and brilliant .

Yes one of my fave artists

Although I wouldn't buy it because I don't collect british issues of US records, the british version of "my sweet baby" might be better for a DJ since I'm guessing it's vinyl and most US copies I've had (only a few, very hard with that side) are styrene burnt.

Wow.... That aint no reason is new to me and is very nice thank you for posting it up . I have come to the conclusion they could sing anything and would sound good :)

the feeling is gone, on bunky, is a old favorite of mine anyone post a clip? ,col

My second all time fav group after the Impressions....I was going to ask Curtis about them when we met him but didnt have the nerve in case he got annoyed..(competition)...is there any footage available of them singing "get on up"...?...it was a sizeable hit.......(and a big Wheel. tune)...also how many of their songs did Mill Edwards (Evans) take the lead on.......to my ears theres "Everybodys laughing" /"When im ready"/"Things wont be the same"...one line in the middle of "And get away".....is Mill still alive?

here are some nice ones from Australia, My Stateside Demo of "And get Away" both sides, this is from a Victoria Prison Radio Station, and an Issue and demo on "You Got the Power" sold the Issue when I got the Demo, but still looks nice..

Love the Esquires! Can't think of a duff one by them off the top of my head.

Took me ages to get a US Bunky of "How Could It Be" on a beautiful vinyl copy.  Most copies I'd had were styrene.  The white demo i used to have, was vinyl as well!

Yeah I waited out for a vinyl one too, in fact I do that with most these days, cant stand hissy styrene..

Here's the Factory Sample of their UK LP 'Get On Up'.. Both sides... god one, cost me £4..
