Willie Mitchell - Bad Eye

Just got this as I'm getting into a bit of R&B and I like the track - will post up the flip which is also good and another Willie Mitchell 45 which I got recently.

Frootful 'fish in the sea' - for me one of the most exciting new releases in the past couple of years and proving to instant floor filler not least with the enlightened younger / mod crowd

Another track from my Ashord & Simpson weekend today....

Finally Got To Me from the 1979 LP 'Stay Free'

perfect for some 70s 'stompin'

:)

Seventies magic from the Major!

You're everything I need

Nice one Dave

Never knew this was the Major. Did Dimples Fields do this as well - it sounds a bit like him anyway. Gonna google it.

Is this similar Dave? Vocal wise I think so. I can be tone deaf at times! :D

Y'Know - I think I agree - makes me smile listening to it! I'm gonna upload his Secret Home over the weekend - another superb instrumental.

I can see where you're coming from Peter, but I think that Major Lance has such a distinctive voice. Another nice track anyway!

Back to my teenage years today with something I found kicking around the back of the box in a paper sleeve, sadly neglected and forgotten about since the last century!

Released on UK ABC in the mid/late 70s around the time a whole host of stuff was getting reissued on UK London, ABC, RCA, etc, was big in a few places that were playing 'modern' at the time as a new release.

I don't actually know if it was released in the US, or even if it was a reissue of sorts in the UK, the UK ABC release is the only one I've ever seen.. so, without further ado...

George Clinton - Please Don't Run

This just arrived this morning, acquired off a fellow soul sourcer. (thanks Des.)

Jesse Fisher - your not loving a beginner.

Was that the one that was ridiculously cheap(hope it was)?Seen one recently that was really cheap but can't remember where & should have had a punt at?Cracking tune & what a dancer

Cheers

Brilliant posts so far today boys hope I can keep the standard up.

Well I'm going for an out & out dancer from a lady I know very little about, the only thing I do know is she's got one hell of a voice.Never heard it out but would love to,it would be a great one to take you from 60t's into 70's when djing. This has a great B side (I'm A Lonely Woman)but I couldn't find anywhere on You Tube?Another that won't cost you much more then a couple of pints & worth every penny.

Yes, very cheap and in excellent condition too. Been after one for a while, really good dancer that should get a lot more exposure than it does.

Mine for today . Sorting some vinyl out and came across this one - Jimmy London 'Cathys clown'

Got an old cd on the deck and Prince Phillip Mitchell I'm so Happy came on. Used to like this early 80's - still do! Quite a few people spinning it - Mr Hampsey included.

Visited Manifesto last night for the first time in awhile & had a great night, new room that is just right for a soul night & music to match.

So today's choice is one that sound great last night & is a proper cheapie.

Odd & Ends-Let Me Try Today (sorry if it's already posted???)

Been sneaky & shoving another up as I'm all excited about djing at Bradford tonight. One of my favourite night's out, mainly 60t's with a great mix of lesser known, forgotten oldies you haven't heard in ages & underplayed tunes will all be getting a spin.Played by lesser known dj's with passion, what more do you want from a night. So here's one I've pulled out to maybe make it to the decks.
