September 15, 201212 yr Author I down loaded a few of the clips,Such Misery was a different take and A Dream I know from the Xodiac record but liked Find A Place.

Makes you wonder if the album was planned to be issued once upon a time, rather than as a reference disc.

September 15, 201212 yr as "dream" is amongst them tunes I take it it was recorded during the period around their last release on drew, when bridges, knight and eaton were doing the producing for them. I liked the "raw" tune, think # 6 or 7 and their "dream" version, not as good as bros of soul, but still good. As they were using the United studio back then it should indeed have been an united acetate instead of audioarts though, shouldnt it ? Dave, did you also had a copy of this acetate of your own or were you playing Adey`s copy ? was it audioarts or united ?
September 15, 201212 yr i thought a dream on zodiac was the creations,or is it the same group? they were having a cold from sleeping in a air conditioned room the night before they were suppoed to record the tune so they had the bros of soul doing it again under the name of the creations...if I remember the story right.
September 15, 201212 yr Didn't these tracks find a release on the recent CD's issued?? Here's a mix of the ten tracks from the ebay ad...... https://www.mixcloud.com/Chalkster/precisions-audio-disc-acetate-lp/ only ten minutes long....
September 15, 201212 yr Adey Pierce's was an Audiodisc 12" album....but hissed badly all the way through. He got a clean CD of it, and cut some dubs for people to play. Unfortunately the person who provided the clean C.D. either owned, or was friendly with the person who owned the rights to the stuff, so promptly did a deal with the contents, and the stuff came out on "Joe Boy" or one of it's associated labels. Adey was not a happy chap, but at the end of the day only owned a lump of metal not the rights to the contents. Des Parker

So is #4 "give me another chance".
September 15, 201212 yr i thought a dream on zodiac was the creations,or is it the same group? "A Dream" by The Creations on Zodiac was actually sung by The Brothers of Soul (Fred Bridges, Bob Knight and Bobby Eaton). I'd love to hear The Precisions singing "A Dream". Can we get a link to an MP3 of it? Edited September 15, 201212 yr by RobbK

September 15, 201212 yr this one comes near it but for example misses "dream" https://www.ebay.de/itm/150716797036?nma=true&si=srlP4B0yjSIUU7A7WmjuSC4optI%3D&rt=nc&_trksid=p4340.l2557&orig_cvip=true
September 15, 201212 yr Pearl Jones was the lead singer of Sidra's Embraceables, and also sung backgrounds at Motown, and for Aretha Franklin. I also seem to remember her having a single-artist 45 release on a small, Detroit label (it was black-was it Diamond Jim?)
September 16, 201212 yr i had a feeling its female, but wasnt sure 100%. where you know from its pearl jones ? It's credited to her on the Sidra/Joe Boy 7". I first thought the version on the acetate is the one they initially credited to Barbara Mercer. But according to Google it's infact Pearl and not Babs.
September 16, 201212 yr wasn't there two cd's though, one "official" and one "unofficial"??? I guess you mean the 2 CD's that came out when the Precisions were due to play Prestatyn .... One was the Joe Boy one, the other was put together by Billy Prince (lead of the group) & Jerry Williams / Swamp Dogg who produced the tracks they cut for Atlantic / Atco. There were unissued tracks on the Billy Prince sourced CD, master tapes being owned / held by JW. So unless you class the Joe Boy CD as 'unofficial, don't think either of em fell into that category. BTW, the track credited to Lou Ragland on the Joe Boy release had nothing to do with Lou (singing wise) -- though he did write the song. Weren't some of the lead vocals on those tracks provided by the Precision's valet or driver or some similar guy ??? Edited September 16, 201212 yr by Roburt

September 16, 201212 yr Dave, did you also had a copy of this acetate of your own or were you playing Adey`s copy ? was it audioarts or united ? No, Adey was kind enough to let me have a CD of the tracks. As Des pointed out earlier, Adey was badly let down by someone...I wouldn't have been pleased in the slightest if the same thing had happened to me, that's for sure! I always used an acetate cutter not far from where I used to live in London and would be there when cutting was taking place. As a footnote when Adey turned that acetate up he also got a Precisions', 'Sugar Ain't Sweet' (vinyl not acetate) amongst other bits....the guy has turned up some top discs over the years!

September 16, 201212 yr slighty off topic..i think i mentioned some time ago i have a 7" no label metal acetate of "Instant Heart break" i got from Tim A years ago...which is about 5 rpm slower than the Drew issue...i wonder if this is how it was originally recorded ..and speeded up for the Drew release...play the Drew at -5 ..let me know what you think...Dream Girl is identical Acetate and Drew recording Edited September 16, 201212 yr by platters 81
